The badly decomposed body of a man, discovered in a derelict house in North Dublin, may have been there since 2009.

Police have appealed to the public to help identify the man’s remains which were discovered in in a house in Phibsboro on Wednesday. A post-mortem revealed he died from natural causes.

Police released an image of a Pulsar watch that was found on the remains in the hope that a relative or friend might recognize it.

According to the Irish Examiner, he is described as being between 5' - 5'6" tall, of thin build, and was found wearing navy boots, combat pants and a green-striped jumper.

Police are checking missing persons reports and dental records in efforts to establish his identity.
