Fox pundit Bill O’Reilly has blamed the death of the youngest victim of theAurora shooting on the cost of babysitters.

Speaking in the aftermath of the movie theater massacre that killed 12 people, O’Reilly questioned why children were at a midnight screening of the batman movie.

Veronica Moser-Sullivan (6) was killed during the midnight screening of "Batman: The Dark Knight Rises" early Friday in Aurora, Colorado. Her mother, Ashley Moser (25) was shot in the throat and the abdomen and remains in critical condition.

In a segment early on during O’Reilly’s show “The O’Reilly Factor” the host remarked, “I don’t want this to sound harsh to anybody, but the reason that these children were in the theater at midnight to see Batman was because their parents didn’t want to pay for babysitters because babysitters are expensive. So they take the children, the children fall asleep in the movie and the parent watches the movie. And the (six) year-old girl who’s dead – the mother of the girl was shot in the chest – you just heard her father.

“She survived. The story about this is that the mother, the father – and you heard the father – took the six year-old to the midnight movie. And they did that, as I explained, ‘cause they didn’t want to pay a babysitter, because babysitters are 15 bucks an hour, OK? OK? And there you go.”

The alleged shooter, James Holmes, a 24-year-old graduate student in neurosciences at the University of Colorado-Denver, was arraigned on Monday.
