Fox News pundit Bill O’Reilly slammed President Obama Monday after the U.S. leader described the Boston bombings as a “tragedy” during his address to the nation on Monday.

The right wing pundit instead described the double bomb blast as a “vile act of violence designed to kill innocent people, including children.”

Just hours after two bombs ripped through the finish line of the Boston Marathon, the President addressed the nation to promise that “the full weight of justice” will be applied to the responsible individuals or groups.

During his opening remarks on “The O’Reilly Factor” on Monday evening, the host criticized President Obama’s use of the term tragedy.

“President Obama has addressed the nation and promised justice,” O’Reilly said.

“But he made one mistake. The president called the attack ‘a tragedy.’ It was not. It was a vile act of violence designed to kill innocent people, including children. I was just in Boston yesterday, and this makes me sick. So far no one has claimed responsibility for the attack. Perhaps it’s a coincidence but this week marks the anniversary of attacks in Oklahoma City, Columbine, Colorado, and Virginia Tech, also the Waco assault in 1993.”

Later during his show, in an interview with network White House reporter Ed Henry, O’Reilly said the more appropriate language to use should have been “an act of war.”
