A 53-year-old man has been charged with the murder of a 51-year-old woman was found dead in her flat on her wedding day.
He is set to appear at Belfast Court on Friday charged with the killing.

Patricia Bardon who was due to get married was found in her flat at Elm Court, off the Donegal Pass area in Belfast, on Monday.

The Northern Irish police launched a murder investigation on Tuesday evening following a post mortem examination.

DUP councilor Ruth Patterson said “A 53-year-old man is still being questioned in connection with the murder.” The councilor described the murder as "tragic".

Those who live in the area said that Ms Bardon was a very private person and was not well-known.

Police Detective Chief Inspector John McVea said that the police are trying to find out where Ms Bardon had been in the days leading up to her death. They are looking to speak to anyone who saw or spoke to her between August 21 and August 23.
