Just one day after Judge S. Jane Haggerty expressed frustration with prosecutors, Assistant District Attorney Adrienne Lynch and lawyers representing Aisling Brady McCarthy were back in Middlesex Superior Court on Wednesday afternoon.

Brady McCarthy, a 35-year-old, County Cavan native, is facing first-degree murder charges in the death of one-year-old, Rehma Sabir, who died while in her care in January 2013.

In Wednesday's brief hearing, prosecutors provided an update on several long delayed defense requests for reports on medical examination of tissue samples from Baby Sabir as well as DNA analysis of blood and other evidence collected from the Sabir family's apartment in Cambridge, MA.

Lynch reported to the court that she has received a commitment that a final report on the tissue sample analysis will be available by January 15 and that she is pursuing an expedited analysis of the DNA evidence that will be complete in as little as five days.

The next scheduled pre-trial hearing in the case is February 6, which was set as the deadline for prosecutors to furnish a complete list of evidence and witnesses that they intend to introduce during the trial.

In recent rulings, Judge Haggerty denied a defense motion to dismiss the murder charges, but ordered related assault charges in the case be dropped. Separately, a request for bail was denied and McCarthy-Brady will continue to be held until the scheduled trial date of April 6.
