Aer Lingus cancels flights to and from New York due to Hurricane Sandy

Aer Lingushas cancelled all flights to and from New York on Monday ahead of Hurricane Sandy.

The Irish national carrier made the announcement on Sunday night due to the severe weather warning.

Passengers on flights to and from New York, Shannon, and Dublin have been offered alternative arrangements or a full refund.

A statement from the airline confirmed the cancellation of the EI-105 flight from Dublin to New York; the EI-104 flight from New York to Dublin; the EI-109 flight from Dublin to New York; the EI-108 flight from New York to Dublin; the EI-111 flight from Shannon to New York, and the EI-110 flight from New York to Shannon.

A spokesman advised customers affected by the cancellations to visit its website where they can change their flights to another date of travel, free of charge.

The spokesman said: “Customers who wish to cancel their travel plans will receive a full refund and are asked to use the refund request facility on AerLingus.com.

“Aer Lingus apologises to all customers affected by these cancellations.”

Any changes to other U.S. flights will be made as the airline assesses the threat posed by Hurricane Sandy.
