Indeed, God bless and rest him. My brother emailed me to say the young man was a grandson in his woman's family. Their story is that he was in his own car near the bridge, saw the danger and upon seeing another car's headlights in the teeming fogging rain heading towards the bridge, got out of his car and walked forward to warn the oncoming driver, stepped onto the torrenting Liffey bank and it gave away, sweeping him out of sight. RIP, Brave Young Responsible Man.
May he rest in peace. My sincere condolences to his family and his fellow Gárdaí. A real loss to our nation. A real HERO taken from us but also a beacon of courage to us all.
The Lord will take care of him as Gard Jones did the people.
God love him. :( Condolences to his family. Don't know how you deal with something like that. Something so completely unexpected - the shock must be horrendous.
a brave man doing his job - sad beyond all measure. Our condolences to his loved ones and the mates he played and worked with.
So sad....condolences to his family and friends.
A brave and selfless young man. Our condolences to his family.
R.I.P.
