Everyone loves a good news story and Brooklyn resident Aoibheann Sweeney and her Irish-born partner, Inez Murray, did not disappoint when they welcomed their baby girl into the world in April, in the back of a cab in the theatre district.

Martin McGuinness running for president
On a Friday in September the news spread around Ireland that Northern Ireland’s Deputy First Minister, Martin McGuinness was set run for Irish president. In New York that very same day, IrishCentral managed to track down McGuinness and get the first interview with the Sinn Fein presidential candidate.

Dana’s outburst during the Irish presidential debate
