There is nothing in law that stops a woman going for Co.Council, Government, or Presidential elections in Ireland, so it is rather silly to say there has to be a 30% quota. You cannot force anyone to stand, so what happens if that 30% just cannot be got. You cannot pick anyone (of the street)to fill seats....

All Quotas are bad. Hillary had the benefit of being the spouse of a President. We would not even know here name if She was not married to Bill. Thatcher made her own way. Please do not compare the two as sequels.
