Its not political its personal, I swore that lovely day before a brilliant blue sky I would never be passive again. We Americans and lovers of freedom are under attack, speak up, defend our freedoms on a daily basis in whatever ways we can, even as simply as speaking up for our freedoms. We are endowed by our creator with certain unalienable rights, among these are Life, Liberty, and, The Pursuit of Happiness. So in defiance of the small minded anti freedom controllers in this world, Live, be Free, and really piss them off by being Happy,

Yes lets blame all Muslims, Would you all cop on ? Lets blame Britian for Eires woes, Croatia/Bosnia, Etc etc, who always pays the inocents, there are children infants dying in Iraq, Afghanistan, all over the world, as did here south and north. Yes we should be ashamed of politicizing the issue, and looking at the victims. Ephraimkibbey when you are personally affected then promote your crap here.

Its cause was POLITICAL and unless we understand its cause and how best to guard against it in the future, we are doomed to live through it again.

I recall Sep 11th 2001 as the day i thought i was watching one of the Spielberg movie trailers, until i saw somebody from my own county of Cork by the name of Clifford who was helping injured people exit the first building hit, little did he know that when the second plane hit that his own sister and her baby daughter were on board, now after such a horrific event Mr Clifford would be excused if he felt nothing but hatred for those religious lunatics, but that is far from the case,he is a person that knows that hatred can destroy you if you let it take hold,he impressed me with his positive attitude to life and i wish him peace and all those who went through hell that day.

You are right BrianO!!!! And be vigilant! Al Queda can fail repeatedly but if we fail, just once, it will be another disaster. The toll from this attack keeps rising as we lose many of the first responders from illnesses aquired in the line of duty.

Bill O' just told Sarah P. that the only way to win was to "start" calling the President a socialist and now you are suggesting we vote for some other guy who is a socialist. Will the real socialist please stand up? I'm confused, not! While I do not shiver and quake at socialist ideas and am not happy with the President’s attempts to appease the Reactionary Right with a bunch of warmed over conservative ideas, I find that my heart is in the no man’s land that the Democratic Party occupied Pre-Clinton. I do not see how throwing away one’s precious vote on a candidate who is doomed to failure in anyway advances the liberal cause. It cost liberals the 2000 and 2004 elections when Nader took away just enough liberal votes to allow corrupt voting practices first in Florida and later in Ohio to get W. elected. Had he not selfishly run, the past decade of debacle would be something in a science fiction novel. Because of him, America was/is tragically forced to live it.

Read “500 Days: Secrets and Lies in the Terror Wars” by Kurt Eichenwald of the New York Times. He has new information from our government’s archieves regarding the lead up to the attack and what happened after it.

mairint, you sound just like all the Al Queda propagandists. They say that the reason they do not like us is because WE are doing exactly that to their countries. “Now they spread around the world and bring their problems and demands with them.” To the Arab world, that is exactly what western civilization has been doing since the First World War. I do not agree with either them or you. We should be able to freely exchange ideas and let merit be the decider of what each civilization retains or discards.

Do you ever think - what a wonderful world this would still be if the muslims stayed in their own countries and did not fight with each other. Now they spread around the world and bring their problems and demands with them. But for them we would not have seen the terrorist bombing of the Trade Centre in N.Y., the bombing of the bus in London, the bombing of the train in Spain, the murder of thousands of brave American, Canadian, Australian, New Zealand, and European military who have tried to help rebuild facilities in the Middle East. They have built roads, hospitals, schools etc. for what it appears to be ungrateful recipients. The 'Western World' countries are drained financially so the hard working tax paying populations of N. America, Australia, Germany, France, the Netherlands etc. etc. are deprived and further taxed in order to finance the restructure of muslim countries. Are we the fools, led by fools?
