Want an education in Ireland? You'll have to sing for it!

'Where is our school?' Irish schoolchildren sing for help

Where is our school? Children release song to raise funds for proper classroom after 14 years in Quonset huts

We’ve all heard of singing for your supper, but having to sing for a classroom might be a song too far.

But that's just what some Irish schoolchildren are doing with a catchy new song called "Ca Bhfuil Ar Scoil?" (Where Is Our School?).

The children at Gaelscoil Bharra in Dublin have spent the past 14 years slogging in quonset huts instead of the proper classrooms they were promised back in 1995.

Their plight attracted the attention of Dublin band Tupelo who went down to the school to record the song.

Next thing you know the song is rocketing up YouTube and is outselling Whitney Houston at Tower Records in Dublin.

All the proceeds from the record will go to the building of a new school, but it's a crying shame it came to this in the first place.
