FIRSTLY: it was NO secret. Intentions to assess the sisters (NOT NUNS)of the LCWR were made public a couple of years ago. SECONDLY: the nuns pictured are exactly NOT the sisters who are being investigated THIRDLY: I believe you are incorrect re the "visitation". The results published yesterday are from the Visitation. FOURTHLY: I also believe Sister Simone is being ingenuous or outright sarcastic.
No nun and let me repeat, no nun dresses like those in the picture used. This is similar to the story and picture of Archbishop Burke of Africa when you ran that of Cardinal Raymond Burke. I think that you have to be careful not to influence the masses by trolling for sympathy. Sister Carol Keehan of the CHA has a salary of 962K as its CEO and a Daughter of Charity at that. The nuns in the Association are all "well heeled" as well as well healed and all are dressing as executives with plenty of high priced clothing in their closets as told to me by my recently deceased Irish mother who had about five dresses to her name while raising five sons just as Ann Romney. Why do these nuns needs to worry about "birth control" UNLESS the obvious? There are plenty of good and faithful nuns. However, the leadership of many has "fallen off the wagon" in a quest to destroy what they perceive as a suppressive patriarchal hierarchy in league with the leftists who have formed socialist associations of priests in order to merge church and state. Didn't someone once remark to "give to Caesar what is Caesar's and to God what is God's"? As Adrian Monk says consistently, I may be wrong but I don't think so.
If this were not an Article appearing in a Free Stater Dubliner, Bourgeois Journal (Many thanks for the "PUBlic" Forum and Opportunity to Freedom of Speech,Irishcentral.) I. Wouldn`t have thought much of It. Am Personally Partial to a Non Sectarian Leftest Coalition Government led by Sinn Fein, at a New Capital in Belfast. Thus am I. Both a Catholic, And, a Believer in the Separation of Church and State. What Rome does is Her Business. If you`re "Not Happy" with that; Try the Church of England(CelticQueenUSA) ... ?
Well yet another attempt to silence the masses!!! I hope they cannot cow these good women into silence. They are speaking out with courage and live in and with the poor unlike the big guys at the Vatican. The NUNS know what the real isues are that need addressing. Rome should maintain a silence of their own because each time they open their collective mouths, their ignorance of what life is like comes to the surface as well as the proverbial foot in their collective mouths! WE NEED ANOTHER JOHN XXIII PRONTO!
The Vatican always leans to the right in any debate. They welcome and encourage the radical right in their counsels, while swiftly coming down on any left-leaning groups who often are attempting to implement the true message of Jesus. This strategy used to be effective, but now appears to be heading them into a modern-day schism.
When will those in power get it. You are not GOD. Step down and take a look around.
Message to the nuns: stop doing all that Jesus-y helping the poor and the sick stuff and start bashing gays and women's reproductive choices!
I don't think there is enough "fabric" to gag everyone-Free Fr.Flannery!
They'd better leave my nuns alone or they'll have me to contend with.
I think this is more propaganda by Irish Central to bash the Catholic Church. This is not a news story, this is an opinion piece.
At a time when the Catholic Church should be mending fences (in light of the pedophile scandals), Pope Benedict and his henchmen instead feel it necessary to crush any sort of thinking they fear. Do Catholics really want a ruthless Dictator as their leader?
