Text of statement from Van Morrison to RTE Radio One in Ireland.
I have asked my Management Team to carry out an immediate investigation into a hacking attack, which took place on my website on December 29th last. This is the second occasion on which the website has been hacked into during the last three months.
In this most recent incident, claims were made relating to my personal life in a 'statement' purporting to come from me. Once these claims were brought to our attention, they were taken down from the site but not before news organisations repeated these falsehoods. The comments which appeared on my website did not come from me. They are completely and utterly without foundation.

If getting hackers to break in to Van Morrison's site is the only way we get to hear from Van himself. Then so be it. Van fans around the world love you and most want to sit down and hear what you have to rave about. I have issues with blogs, but just maybe it is time for a Van Morrison blog. Web sites will move goods such as CDs, T-shirts and ballcaps. A blog will take away some of the private world, but only the parts that you know is all ready out there. I my mind the hackers did wrong to invade you personal world and dress it up with fiction. Fans still want a part of Van The Man that we don't get from lyrics and song.
