Very interesting. My great uncle Calmar Keogh was in the 49th Batt.an Edmonton, Alberta regiment. He was killed 8 Oct 1916 @ the Somme. He has a known grave near @ Regina Trench.I had read about the earlier soldier a couple of years ago. This is a great follow up on that story. Thanks

This story reminds me of the song "Green Fields of France". God Speed and God Bless you Thomas Lawless, for your ultimate sacrifice - and to your family/descendants, may they have peace and closure after so many decades.
To comment of cillowen-this type of thinking is one of the factors that has held Ireland back from full development for the last ninety years.
