The 515 US firms in the Ireland are here for one reason - to avoid paying taxes. The US Congress has just completed an investigation into this loophole and found that this avoidance issue is costing America dear. The largest consumer economy in the world receives practically zero tax revenue from companies who are headquartered and sell their products there - Apple, Intel, Google included. While the politicians in Dublin are patting themselves on the back for this for which Ireland is rewarded through the provision of employment, watch soon as the US ends all of this and forces that revenue back to the US.
