Ms Napolitano has recently spear-headed the controversial introduction of dull-body scanners and pat-downs at U.S. airports.
Overseeing the introduction of the new measures, she said it underscored the commitment to protecting the safety and security of American citizens.

Mairin: You are correct that you cleared US Customs. But you didn't clear Immigration till you got to Chicago. Now you'll do both in Dublin, and arrive in Chicago as if you were coming in from Minneapolis or Cincinatti. But you probably won't save much time, because your bags will still be delayed.

I have always cleared US customs in Dublin en route to Chicago.....for many years. Am I missing something?

It is sad to see this US Federal cancer of TSA spreading to Ireland. Today it is for US bound, tomorrow it will be all travelers. Welcome to the NWO!

Other than the US establishing a base in Ireland, there seems to be conflicting views about what the result of this will be. I'm hearing two sides of the illegal immigration thing???
