A U.S. marine was stabbed and seriously injured over the St. Patrick’s Day celebrations in Dublin.

The officer, who is stationed at the U.S. Embassy in Ballsbridge in Dublin was attacked in the early hours of last Friday morning.

The 25-year-old was stabbed in the lower body and legs and a 22-year-old female was also injured in the attack which took place in an apartment at around 3.30am last Friday, according to the Evening Herald.

Detectives from the Ballyfermot Garda Station are investigating the incident.

Investigators believe that they U.S. citizen had been enjoying the St. Patrick’s Day celebrations last Thursday before he returned to the apartment with the woman.

An argument ensued after male friends of the woman arrived, which saw the marine suffer stab wounds to the back of both his legs, inflicted by the men who fled the scene soon after.

Despite losing a large amount of blood, the paramedics were able to stabilize him once they arrived on the scene. The woman was also injured.

Both victims were transferred to St. Jame’s Hospital where they were treated for injuries.
Police are continuing their search for the assailants.

A spokesperson from the American Embassy in Dublin said they were assisting police with their enquiries into what triggered the incident.

"A member of the embassy community was the victim of an assault, and we're working closely with Irish authorities to determine the circumstances," the spokesperson said.

"Of course we cannot comment on an ongoing investigation."

These men must be real GOOD "friends of the woman", to care enough to stab her and all...
Its amazing that Irish Central will report some crimes but not others...Successive so called Irish Governments have been stealing from the Irish People (Social Welfare Recipients) and nobody gets protection by law, which is crimes against humanity.
A minor detail to most, but not to a Marine, a Marine is not a soldier- they take great pride in having earned the title U.S. Marine.
