Parents at a Tyrone parish had the shock of their lives when gay pornography flashed on screen during a presentation from the parish’s own Fr Martin McVeigh. Fr McVeigh was giving a presentation to the parents of First Communicants from the parish.
The Herald reports on the shocking story that comes out of St Mary's School in Pomeroy, Co Tyrone. Fr. McVeigh was reportedly setting up a PowerPoint presentation for the parents of the parish when the pornography flashed on screen, at which point Fr. McVeigh promptly ended the presentation.
The images allegedly came on screen after Fr. McVeigh inserted a USB drive into the computer.
Included in Fr. McVeigh’s audience were 26 parish parents, and one eight-year-old child, reports Joe.ie.
“I don’t know how it happened but I know what happened," said Fr. McVeigh. "There are people making innuendoes who weren’t even there but in this day and age these stories grow.”
"There were plenty of shocked faces. There's a lot of parents very angry about it,” said one parent.
St. Mary’s School principal Sean Devlin reportedly contacted the Armagh diocese in the wake of the incident, which is under investigation by the diocesan child protection office.
A statement from Cardinal Sean Brady said, "The archdiocese immediately sought the advice of the PSNI who indicated that on the basis of the evidence available no crime had been committed."
A spokeswoman for the Council of Catholic Maintained Schools said that they were aware that the principal of the school "immediately referred this matter to the diocesan authorities in accordance with the diocesan safeguarding procedures."
The Archdiocese of Armagh has refused to say whether or not Fr. McVeigh has been suspended from duties or has had restrictions imposed on his position throughout the time of the investigation.
The Herald reports that an emergency meeting was conducted at the parish last night.

Well that was mighty careless of him. Maybe it was research for an anti-gay sermon. Still I'm relieved to see that it was an act between consenting adults that he was watching. And, considering the alternatives, I’m sure most of the parents were also quite relieved.

these godly people, these duplicitous con artists, the biggest hypocrites that ever walked,i cant think of anything worse than pretending you are a man of god, preaching to good though gullible people while all the time you are a child molester,or something very different than what you present to the world, the church will never recover till it roots out this evil thing in its midst, but nothing condemnatory comes down from the top,and until it does, it tarnishes all the good priests and real devout churchmen and women, they must cringe every time one of these cases emerges.

Amazing how irish central seems to regularly air anti catholic "scoops" . I live in Ireland and this story has not been aired here . I am grateful to live amongst such pure living souls as Muslims ,Protestants , Sikhs , Jehovah Witnesses , Jews , Mormons , etc. etc. ,and not the slightest hint of deviation from the straight and narrow ! Would you please get f------ ing real !

WE arent bahing the Irish. We are trying to point out that this is just another part of the endless hypocricy that results when priests cant marry. they could marry back in the past untila bout 12oo. Then the church married them to it in the gayest marriage I have ever heard of...............The church keeps btw talking about one man, one woman against our gay friends getting equal marriage rights While it practices polygamy, marrying itself to what - a hundred thousand or more priests in the world............What I cant figure out is who is the top and who is the bottom.

Better the unmarrued priest have their fun on their computer - instead of using children. I suspect the vatican will solve this priests sloppy work by sending him to ministry in some part of the world we might call an armpit of the earth. Moving him just like they did when some molesting priests were discovered.

Bythebay: Cardinal O'Malley from Boston has been home from his visit to Ireland for quite awhile. One incident isn't a reflection of how good or how bad he accomplished his "Vatican PR Mission!" Unless, all of the "Secret Archives" concerning Priest Pedophilia is opened to public scrutiny, in every diocese, I would say that Cardinal O'Malley failed in his mission. One thing that I appreciate about Cardinal O'Malley is that he moved out of Cardinal Law's expensive digs and lives modestly, unlike most Cardinals around the world! He also goes around dressed as a humble monk, rather than a primate (not to be confused with "monkey,") in rich, brocade vestments and Belgian lace with a cross draped around his neck, big enough to choke a horse! I realize that we can't judge anyone by outward appearances, but he's a lot easier for me to look at AND believe than most of the Medieval Middlemen, we have running the Church, today!

This really is sad for the parents, and certainly nothing to joke about. It just proves these men, who should be keepng themselves apart to be able lead as an example are no better than the gutter snipes parents are trying to protect their children from, maybe even to encourage a vocation. Goodness knows what else is done in the secrecy of presbyteries.

A home movie perhaps?

An "emergency meeting was conducted at the parish last night." Emergency? Did they hand out gas masks or flaming torches? If this gay porn was his own then he's a hypocrite who's damaging his own. If it internet spam then he's being too blase about it. But I suspect the villagers probably look at much the same stuff themselves every night.

Just what kind of a thumb drive library does the good father Martin have?
