Joseph Kennedy III, the son of former congressman Joe Kennedy, is being tipped to launch a political career soon as insiders mull over who the next Kennedy in public life will be.
Kennedy, 29, may be interested in the South Shore-Cape Cod House seat currently held by Democratic Congressman Bill Delahunt, who has not yet committed to a tough re-election fight.
“Massachusetts – and Capitol Hill – without a Kennedy is like Fenway Park without the Wall,’’ Dan Payne, a Democratic media consultant, referring to the famous Green Monster told the Boston Globe. “They were meant to be together.’’
Others believe the era may be over. “There’s an endless supply of Kennedys but they all do different things with their lives,’’ said Philip W. Johnston, chairman of the Robert F. Kennedy Center for Justice and Human Rights. “They should not be measured by how they do in electoral politics.’’
Joseph P. Kennedy III is a Harvard Law School graduate and former Peace Corps volunteer, is seen as the most likely, Democratic Party insiders say. He has made numerous appearances at Democratic party events and has expressed the most interest in seeking office. He is currently an assistant district attorney in Barnstable County. His brother Matthew Kennedy is working in the Obama administration but is said to be more interested in a business career.
Other possibilities for politics include Ted Kennedy's widow Vicki who is said to still be furious about the loss of her husband's senate seat to Scott Brown, while Patrick Kennedy has not ruled out another run for office.

When you think you are rid of them another pops up. Must be nice to have money so you can impose your will over others lives since it won't affect your pocket book.

Oh thank God! Whatever would we do without a Kennedy to confiscate our $$ and spend them on socialist programs? We're saved! More with the Kennedy seat comments. Mr. Cooper are you not aware that Corkcity has proclaimed that it is the people's seat, not the Kennedy nor Brown seat. My goodness, that was settled at least 3 days ago.

Kennedy's bring nothing fruitful, moral or productive to the country....just more scandal from their corrupt, dysfunctional family with the exception of Eunice & Sargent Schriver. They're decent, good people! They can't seem to except the rejection of the American Voters, the Kennedy name no longer excites people....everyone knows about their dirty linen.

It would seem that the Kennedy's have nothing better to do than continue to foist themselves off on America as " Public Servants ." What's actually happening is that they breed like rats and will eventually exceed their cut of Seagrams inport dough . They're getting spread so thin that maybe ... just maybe ... some of them will finally have to WORK for a living .

The beauty of America is that we threw off the chains of royalty back in 1776 and have shed lots of blood since(ours and others), to keep it that way. Why in the world would we want to voluntarily impose a royal class on ourselves now? Get fresh faces and names in there, mix it up a bit. Let others have a chance. I vote for the content of their character and their judgment, not their name.

Is it me or is it that the Kennedy's can't get a REAL job and have to leech off the American public?

I would think that the democratic party would be more interested in a qualilfied candidate rather than the mentality of "we've got to have another Kennedy in office". Do they think they own that seat? Let me answer; yes they do. I guess that shows the mentality of the democrats in Massachusetts. Enough with the Kennedy's already.

I believe that if he ran he would be defeated unless he is a strong PRO-LIFE believer, which is counter to previous Kennedy's. If truly interested he should wait until 2012!!

He seems like an intelligent and decent young man. May he see that the future of the United States needs a re-emphasis on the Constitution, Declaration of Independence, and their underlying moral philosophy, which is Judeo-Christian. May he see that the Democratic Party has taken leave of our American heritage and ethics and promoted the culture of death; if he remains a democrat, or not, may he help usher in a return to rationality and what is best in our nation.

Lets have a break from the kennedy "mystique" for a generation or two. The ancient Chinese wisdom illuminates this very well when they said that generations are an endless wheel of mandarin, beggar, thief, mandarin, beggar, thief...I am not sure America can afford anymore kennedys for awhile until we pay off our 14 trillion dollar debt.
