Just a reminder that GS's transition from its charter as an investment bank(that wrecked the world financial system was a completely phony move to allow GS to borrow endlessly from the Fed at little or no interest and then use that borrowed money to gamble in dodgy and dangerous derivatives and give out huge bonuses while the rest of the world suffered from GS's recklessness. Why a phony move? As an investment bank GS made no commercial loans, but its new charter as a commercial bank was based on making commercial loans. GS may now make some token commercial loans but it mainly remain a huge trading operation, its trading not providing any capiatl for new or expanding businesses.
"A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush." And I think it was King Ahab in From the Bible who stated: "Don't count your chickens before they hatch."
