maggiepoo … "Chicago Thug" “bailouts for banks and car dealerships and everyone else except the people”... There you go again.....The bailout actually saved the “American automotive industry” and millions of American jobs within the big three car makers, subcontracting and feeder industries that fed components and services to the big three. In total, the Brookings Institute states over 2 million jobs were saved directly linked to the production, distribution, and sale of new cars and trucks.
It looks like there will be more security in Monegall than ordinary people to meet the President. We made a balls of the economy ourselves and so did the americans so we can't just blame one man
If his visit and HER visit help the Irish economy, fine!!!
cathy/marty... And how did we get broke?...Remember 2 wars on credit cards, financial deregulation that took this country to finacial collapse, bleeding 700,000 jobs a week....All before Obama ever stepped into office that's how.
The Obama's only think of themselves not the cost to our beloved USA!!!!!
AND THE UNITED STATES IS BROKE????
francisquinn..."He is a terrible example" Could you give us a few examples?
What a waste of money....he doesnt give a s--- that we are going broke...He is a terrible example....Just hope that the American voters next year realize what a mistake they made in 08...
Spot on McNamara31. This is a dangerous world we live in. There are too many fanatics with guns and bombs. Every country that hosts other heads-of-state has to employ a great deal of security that costs a lot of money. It's the new-normal.
This is President Obama's first major international visit since the death of Bin Laden; any less security or attention to detail would be irresponsible. Any other American president in a similar situation would have the very same.
