WillRuha-There are so many Irish Americans of note, that I think it will take them a while to honor all those that should be. I met Jimmy Rodgers parents when I was a child. We were all clam digging at Ocean Shores, WA at the time...very nice people.

I love the idea but fail to see inclusion of the Kennedy brothers, John, Robert, and Edward. If induction is limited to the living, then an exception should be made in order to induct them posthumously. You simply cannot have an Irish-American Hall of Fame without their inclusion. I would also nominate for induction the Father of Folk Rock music, singer-songwriter, Jimmie Rodgers, who earned 23 Gold Records, 37 Top 40 hits, starred in two motion pictures and in two nationally-televised musical programs, and was on his way to legendary status when a corrupt police officer (also Irish-American) Mike Duffy, crushed his skull in with his nightstick in a fit of road rage, the result of which was more than 60 surgeries for the Irish-American singer, who had to learn to talk and walk again before staging a heroic entertainment comeback. As an Irish-American (on my mother's side), I am proud to submit Jimmie Rodgers as a suitable candidate for induction. At 78, he continues to write and produce songs, books, poetry, and screenplays as a wondrous creative force - one of America's great storytellers.
