The last gathering they had in Ire land was called An Tostal in 1954. They used a maroon flag with a gold harp on it. They built a flowerbed in the middle of O'Connell's bridge and erected a big plastic flame. They called it the Tostal Flame. A few lads got drunk one night and threw it into the Liffey river. They had to send divers to get it. Although the Liffey at that point is not too deep when the tide is out but they were afraid that the Guinness barges plying between Guinness brewery and the North Wall would hit it and break it at low tide. That was the talk of Dublin, the Tostal Flame. Even though the economic conditions were very bad at that time it gave the people some thing to laugh about.
Oh my Corn Flakes and Coffee :(
