Suicide victim left girlfriend tied up for two days - iPhone gives up evidence
Man who leaped to his death left girlfriend bound and gagged
A SIM card retrieved from the cellphone of a man who fell to his death off the Cliffs of Moher has saved the life of his partner, who was left gagged and bound in their home for almost two days.
Police in Co. Roscommon found the SIM card when they were attempting to identify the body of a man who had fallen from the Cliffs of Moher on Wednesday.
Details from the man’s iPhone led police an apartment in Roscommon early Thursday morning, where they discovered his partner tied to a bed, unable to move.
One senior officer told the Irish Independent: "She might not have been found for several days if the SIM card had not been recovered and we were able to find out the address."
Police believe that the two incidents are linked.
