EphraimKibbey, it is not illegal to own snakes in Ireland so nothing for you to be concerned about.
There are no laws about bringing snakes INTO Ireland. This one looks very small and timid if Irish Central has the right photo.
Oh come on now, everyone knows there be no snakes in Ireland, LOL
My wife will be horrified! The fact that Ireland is supposed to be snakeless is one of its most endearing qualities for her. On a serious note, what bob40wil says about Florida should be a cautionary tale for Irish officials. The pet boa constrictors that got loose/were released in the everglades have found a very appealing home. They have reproduced in great numbers, they have grown to astronomical lengths and they eat everything from pets to alligators. The U.S. spends billions to fight foreign invasive species like zebra mussels, wild boars, asian longhorned beetles and such. The damage done by these creatures is ruinous both monitarilly and in destruction of indiginous species. Escaped snakes of any size are bad for Ireland's piece of mind but allow those possessing them to turn them in with amnesty. If you criminalize their ownership, they will be released into the wild to avoid prosecution. Nothing like making a bad problem worse.
If you kiss it it will turn back into a banker - or maybe a TD.
I thought St. Patrick ran all the snakes out of Ireland, plus, that's not a snake, come to Florida, I'll show you snakes. :)
