St. Pat’s parades canceled as weather worsens

Bookmark and Share

St. Patrick's revelers can expect rain and wind on the East Coast Saturday if the parade is not already canceled

Wilmington Delaware, York, Pennsylvania and Springfield, New Jersey are among the locations that have called off their St. Patrick’s parade because of the torrential rain and high wind expected on the East Coast this weekend.

Many other parades, including ones on Long Island, New York, could fall victim to the inclement weather.

Boston’s parade on Sunday will go ahead, but organizers believe the bad weather will sharply hit attendance.

The weather for the biggest parade of all, the New York St. Patrick’s parade that occurs on the day itself, Wednesday the 17,th is expected to be good, however, with partly cloudy skies and temperatures in the 50s.

You're probably thinking of the St Patrick's Day parade down the road in Union, NJ, which is quite large and colorful. Today's parade has been cancelled because of the rain, but fear not. The organizers have rescheduled the march for March 27.
There is no St Patrick's Day parade in Springfield, NJ.
