It's really a pile of lousy cement and is a disgrace. A bigger disgrace is the "parish pump patronage" that has left this canker in place despite the justice system ordering the owner to tear down something that was built wothout planning permission on a tourist spot. THINK, what would local town building inspector, mayor and council do if they discovered you'd put something like this up without applying for a permit. RIGHTO, "CLINK" that's the sound of your jail cell being locked, VAROOM, that's the sound of a CAT-9 dozer about to demolich you silly project!
Suggestion: Arrange for An Bord Fáilte to purchase the Achill 'Stonehenge' at fair market value, maintain it as a tourist attraction and charge a fee to those who wish to see it. Turn it into a revenue-producing structure that will earn much needed cash for Achill Island.
I would like to see it, too. There's something fascinating about it.
Leave ART alone! Take down the ghost towns if you have so much time on your hands!!!
