Whatever about calling Aung San "Kyi" in a knock-off internet post, what about asking Bonzo if he's willing to pay tax in Ireland? After all, he makes enough money from being a professional Irishman.

asnyder Considering all of the good these two men have done for the world, as opposed to all the negative ? that Sinead has put forth, I think they did the right thing. She has a track record of causing unnecessary strife so why give her an opportunity to do so here?" Really, and exactly how much of their own money have these two boys donated to anything? How much of the money actually went to Africa? What a pity the media do not print on the reality of the two boys.Maybe they feared Sinead speaking the truth as she did when tearing up the picture of the Roman pope? While people like to call her a looney, she can sing and perform unlike the so called sane of this world. Did you ever spare a thought as to why she is plagued with mental problems?Abuse. Anyway as all judges in Ireland will tell you- "All women are feeble minded". It is our wombs you see- hysterical isn't it. Ah yes, Sinead is the wild woman aspect of the Goddess, the part all humans fear. So when they fear her, they attack her. Surprised the witch hunters are not out in force too.

Just for the record the event was about Aung San Suu Kyi not Sinead O'Connor who has been very random in some of her words and actions at times.

My comment follows my repeat of "Wounderknee's" I have to agree with the comment by "Woundedknee" :With all her problems, there's something authentic, even noble about Sinead. There's no comparison between her and the posturing preaching bores Bono and Geldof. For one thing, Sinead has roots in her culture,as can be heard in her beautiful renditions of She Moves Thru The Fair and other traditional songs. Bono's culture is the Mid-Atlantic, while Geldof's is London. And another thing--Sinead pays her taxes, Bono and Geldof are proven to use accounting tricks to avoid paying taxes.
And to follow up with my own. The last paragraph of this article refers to, to Sineid's private life and struggles and really has nothing to do with the actual story. Was it added on to cheapen or make her comments less valid? I'm a Canadian male of Irish decent, but see a real degrading of her comments by adding that last paragraph. (quote) "O’Connor has been much in the news recently over comments she has made on various topics including her search for a new husband, her hasty marriage, and her sex life". Again what does this have to do with anything.

Al Capone was in prison for tax evasion and treated like a king as it was seen as a very noble form of robbery. Anyone who openly admits to being a conscientious contributor to a corrupt regime must have some serious character defects. So, go on Sineid, pay your Irish taxes and support the system of which you feel victim. Sounds like a prisoner telling the jailer that one of the tails have fallen of the "Cat of Nine" during the last whipping.

Democracy has run its course and why anyone would spend 10 years trying to promote it is a mystery! Aung Suu Kyi can't sing but at least she managed to get on the bandwagon.

Sinead has provided IC with another lead story. Seriously. IC has documented her plummeting mental stability and now Sinead is presented as a downtrodden voice of sanity.

I saw Sinead on, I think it was Larry King's, a few years ago.. One subject they talked about was her tearing up the Pope's picture on SNL.. In the interview she explained it was to protest the massive cover up by The Church of the widespread abuse in Ireland of children by Catholic priests..
I don't think very many people in this country (USA) (and maybe other countries too) understood what she did was all about.. it wasn't very well explained by the media from what I remember..
I think she got more publicity protesting her not being able to speak at the concert than she would if she had be allowed to speak.. I don't think she would say anything more controversial than she hasn't already said.. I think she's very talented and beautiful when she lets her hair grow.. She kind of reminds me of an Irish Britney Spears in some ways..
I played with a band where one night our lead singer stuffed a picture of Sinead O'Conner down his pants - just to get attention..
Re: Bono and Geldorf not paying taxes.. I think I read somewhere that Ireland, to encourage the arts, exempted income from artistic endeavors from paying taxes.. They may have overdone it.. I read Abba paid almost half their income in taxes to Sweden.. In this country, The USA, we have a class of very rich people who don't pay their fair share (if any share) of taxes when their help is most needed.. Unfortunately we've become a plutocracy as we slide down into a virtual 3rd world feudal society.. Thanks from Florida!
