A Facebook fan page dedicated to exposing shocking photos of Irish revelers on drunken nights out is quickly becoming a viral hit.
The fan page “Embarrassing Irish Nightlife Photos” has clocked up almost 64,000 ‘likes’ since it was set up last month. The site also has a Tumbler blog which asks subscribers to send in shocking images they have captured on nights out.
One of the latest photos to be uploaded shows a drunken long-haired man, who has defecated on the white plastic chair he is sitting on.
“That is by far the most horrendous thing ive ever seen!!!! PUKE!!!!! [SIC],” one of the sixty Facebook commenters said about the photo.
Other photos show men and women in various states of undress. Another shows a young woman vomiting into her handbag. One woman is sprawled on the side of the road, passed out with a cigarette in her hand.
“The Irish are known for their craic and banter. That means nights out that are messy. We need your photos! Tag us in them now and get them featured on our wall! Irish clubs or Irish people,” the website states.
Facebook users who ‘like’ the page are able to comment on the photos.
Responding to complaints on Sunday, the fan page administrators said they were willing to remove explicit photographs of people who didn’t want them posted.
“We have not breached any Facebook regulations otherwise we would have been shut down.
“Facebook is a public forum. If you don't want people to see your boozy nights out, maybe don't post them on Facebook...?”

Just had a look at that facebook page and what I'd like to know is why are 99% of the people in it NOT Irish!
LiamtheDream | Apr 17, 2013, 11:26 AM EDT
All I can add to this is that the Irish are very popular in New York City, Boston, San Francisco, Chicago, Florida, etc., etc.,
CeltNYC | Apr 07, 2013, 04:06 PM EDT
Let's all laugh at "Londonpride." I think most real Londoners would be thrilled to have more Irish instead of the freaks London gets now. What a silly comment as the Irish are loved world over.
jimdub | Feb 24, 2013, 01:32 PM EST
Londonpride are you totaly mad everywhere i,ve went it been the brits thats hated from the Artic circle to as far as Austraila they are either not liked or just plain hated
Londonpride | Feb 17, 2013, 12:31 PM EST
Irish have themselves to blame for being hated throughout the world.
threenorns | Feb 03, 2013, 08:50 AM EST
regardless if it's irish or anywhere else, instead of worrying about pictures being posted, how about worrying more about not doing stuff that'll get your picture taken?

I have to agree curtisjohnson |the Brits are as digusting as the Irish when it comes to getting drunk in public and making asses of themselves. However, it's not fair to point to another culture of degenerate activity to take the heat off of the Irish buffoons.
Smyrnian | Jan 30, 2013, 06:03 AM EST
This IC self loathing article is kept on the side and rolled every few months; same article and same stupid photo.
curtisjohnson | Jan 29, 2013, 08:53 PM EST
It's a documented fact, schlobo, that the english spread their degeneracy overseas on every "holiday" and in every hooligan infected footy match. For the sheer volume and level of degeneracy, there is no historical parallel.

Ulsterscot has a real problem ! I live in the Republic of Ireland ,can say anything I like , ,can go anywhere I like ,can live where I like etc. So whats this stupid individual talking about . Also regarding the drinking habits of the Irish teenagers I have seen the very same worldwide from Tenerife to Toronto ,from Glasgow to Glastonbury ,from Melbourne to Malibu ! The same behaviour applies now the world over ,and is not exclusively an Irish thing as the article would try and make us believe !!!
mamaginnty | Dec 26, 2012, 02:08 PM EST
nice one IC. get the irish haters foaming at the mouth ready for another year.

Very, very, sad. No one is seeing the big pink elephant in the middle of the room here.Does alcoholism ring a bell??This is now considered a brain disease and finding new evidence of a genetic component. New study where scientists have unpicked the brain process involved in teenage alcohol abuse and say their findings help explain why some young people have more of a tendency to binge drink.A study published in the Proceedings of National Academy of Sciences journal found that a gene known as RASGRF-2 plays a crucial role in controlling how alcohol stimulates the brain to release dopamine, triggering feelings of reward." If people have a Genetic variation of the RASGRF-2 gene, alcohol gives the a stronger sense of reward ,making them more likely to be heavy drinkers,"per Gunter Schumann, who lead the study. Alcohol and other addictive drugs activate the brain's dopamine systems.

It's a fact the Irish, for the most part, are pleasure addicts. Booze is the #1 pleasure soother for the Irish whose mental and cultural ages never seem to grow beyond 5 or 6 years old.
BippyBellito | Nov 24, 2012, 11:55 AM EST
Just don't go to a Muslim Country! Most of the men in Muslim countries are more interested in sodomizing your men anyway, but they'll hang you for being drunk.
ciaradexy | Nov 21, 2012, 12:10 PM EST
Was in Miami and Fort Lauderdale a few weeks ago. Doesnt seem to be much difference in the drinking behaviour of people under a certain age no matter where Ive travelled to.
USUlsterscot | Oct 30, 2012, 11:31 AM EDT
The actual reason that young Irish people do this is because many don't have hobbies and career prospects that make them excited about doing anything other than getting high or leaving Ireland. If you want to live a sober life IN Ireland, you have to stick to religion and stay out of bars if you value your life. Many young people don't talk about genuinely valid local subjects because the ra-fia keep a tight rein on conversational subject matter heard in bars. This is a nation of "squinting windows" and everything you say in Ireland reaches the ears of criminals who need to like what they hear. You're not allowed to rebel against the rafia, it's suicide. The Man is always in charge and you will never get around him. So instead of doing anything genuinely world-changing, it's EastEnders personal drama instead, which most likely won't have men in suits showing up at your family's door and making your mam pee her pants with terror. Screwing in public and being issued a citation from the Guards, fine. Saying something about the criminal relative of the local Sinn Féin councillor? Not so good. This is why people who value ACTUAL free speech cannot coexist in Ireland for longer than a year or two before they say one wrong thing publicly, and their lives go up in smoke like mine did. As for young people getting utterly smashed stupid and posting it to facebook, it's the only subject matter they CAN post to facebook. It's not like they can study for a doctorate overseas or go play miniature golf or join a gaming society unless their family circumstances are extremely well removed from Sinn Féin influence and criminal exploitation, leaving pretty much the ivory towers in Dublin and Wicklow...and that's it.

Immaturity is not the exclusive domain of any nationality, culture or race. We can only try to instill the message that there are consequences for irresponsibile acts. Their future relationships and careers might very well be effected by these lapses in judgement. Whatever is memorialized in print can come back to bite us. Hopefully, there is some help in place (AA, etc.) for those who need it. Not to mention that their are abusers out their just looking for impaired victims.
QuietmanRM | Sep 24, 2012, 10:22 AM EDT
Actually, what's shocking is the lack of research this article presents. There are many facebook pages with photos like that. The first one I saw was just "Embarassing Nightclub Photos". The picture of the young man in the plastic chair appeared there first, so you would have to question if it's actually an Irsih reveler. The pages are poking fun at the stupidity of drunken partiers, not denigrating a particular race. Why someone decided to put one up specifically for the Irish is beyond me, but there's a ton of them out there, mocking all drunks, not just the Irish...A little reseach, a quick search on FB would reveal that, and if you look at any pages, you'd see many duplicate photos.

Given the latest horror story from the internet, I seriously think someone should look into the source and authenticity of this Irish drunken binge video. It is so easy to demean a people, especially today. Although we have spent a great deal of time in Ireland we were only in one pub and they were playing music. Also I thought like the US, an Irish bartender would cut off liquor to an inebriated customer. In fact if a customer were that inebriated, how could he order more liquor. We are also now being treated to a new TV program on BBC America about the shanty "holocaust surviving" Irish in the Five Points of Manhattan. This is an old theme with never a mention that these people were trying to survive after forced out of their country with their land confiscated. Oh and did I mention the hero of the new show is an English detective. The source of this video needs to be outed.

There is a huge drinking problem amongst the young in Ireland and Britain. They go out with the sole aim of getting blasted. Thank God for the Pioneers which manages to keep some off the streets, at least until the age of 18. If you are a practicing Catholic, please consider becoming a Pioneer yourself "For Thy greater glory and consolation, O Sacred Heart of Jesus. For Thy sake to give good example, to practice self-denial, to make reparation to Thee for the sins of intemperance and for the conversion of excessive drinkers I will abstain for life from all intoxicating drink." More things are wrought through prayer than this world ever dreamt of.
bogsidebunny | Sep 12, 2012, 06:45 AM EDT
Actually, the Facebook item is grossly UNDERSTATING the Irish binge-drinking problem. Junior leaving cert results out today mean thousands of 15 year olds will be drunk by midnight.
italiangirl | Sep 11, 2012, 05:36 PM EDT
Guess what? There are just as many stupid drunks here in the US as they are in Ireland or anywhere else in the world. A drunk is a drunk by no other name.I work as a nurse at my local hospital, and believe me, I get to see what kind of damage drunks do. It is in no way funny.Death, destruction, fighting, and I could go on and on.
Lynchy | Sep 11, 2012, 12:05 PM EDT
Is this a case of 'if you didn´t see it, you weren´t there´? Reminds me of scenes in London and Sydney in the 80's and 90's. I´ll presume unless contradicted that Dublin was the same.
Nelsonbarry | Sep 11, 2012, 11:13 AM EDT
how many of these are staged to get on facebook as a cod?
Ms.Gail | Sep 11, 2012, 10:56 AM EDT
Maybe these "revelers," who have no control over their drinking, should join AA and work out their problem, their friends and relatives should join Al Anon. There are substance abusers in every society and answers for them all.
bunkerhill | Sep 11, 2012, 10:31 AM EDT
Is anyone sure it was Irish who posted this video, given the horrible T-shirts and hats we see coming out around St. Patrick's day. We now have an Irish anti-defamation league so Irish and their descendants do not have to be subjected to type of vitriol. If these idiots are Irish, maybe they should be asked to join Rory Who and become British. Personally I would like to know their background, and if the video is authentic, who took it and posted it. I do not care for Facebook and their stock is way down.

SingleDonald | Sep 11, 2012, 10:09 AM EDT
I will not visit this Facebook page; this is disgusting! If anything positive can come out of this, the people depicted, and also the viewers, should see what can happen to those who can't "hold their liquor", and refrain from similar activity, in the future!
hermitTalker | Sep 11, 2012, 10:05 AM EDT
Common sense should be exercised to protect these people from future embarassment, or their children if they now or will have any over reputations and jobs. All very well to say its their own stupidity, but decency and charity kick in to make up for their idiocy.
