Great news for Shannon and the region! :)
I love Shannon Airport. I find it far superior to Dublin Airport, as far as ease for the traveler is concerned. I would never, ever fly in to Dublin Airport again. Let's also remember that Shannon Airport introduced duty free shopping to the world! Go Shannon!
wtf. Thank God, the last time I flew out of Dublin to JFK from the time I got on line to drop of my bag until reached the gate took almost two hours. Two security checks you go from ground level to third level and then back down to ground, forget about all the walking to and from gates. I had no time for duty free or time to eat. I did a lot of worldwide traveling and I rate the new terminal at Dublin as one of the worst. I thought it was just me but I know a lot of people from the midlands that are almost fifty miles closer to Dublin and they all try to get in and out of Shannon when possible.
It is about time that Shannon Airport be separated from the DAA after all Dublin is out for Dublin only. It would be nice if Shannon would now look at the southwest US to have flights from. Two major airports are Dallas-Ft. Worth International and Houston International. Both airports have flights to Britain so why not Ireland?
