On Monday evening Senator Scott Brown (R-Mass) was invited to a special screening of the “Craigslist Killer” the Lifetime Network movie which tells the tale of murderer Philip Markoff and his Irish girlfriend Megan McAllister.

Speaking to WHDG Channel 7 Brown said “You feel terribly for the fiancée in that whole situation…This is somebody that had this amazing double life. It’s surreal."

The Senator was speaking at a special VIP viewing party held in honor of Michelle McPhee, the author of the book on which the movie was based.

Her 2010 book “A Date with Death: The Secret Life of the Accused “Craigslist Killer”” follows Philip Markoff’s life from 2009 when he allegedly murdered Julissa Brissman. The movie also alludes to the fact that Brissman may not have been his only victim.

I think that Monsoonman should pack up and get out of town, leave no forwarding address. What does he think he's doing? living in Paradise. He should count his Blessings and realise that he was not in love with this girl. More likely, he was in lust. Get on yer Bike Monsoonman and don't even look back. Let this be a lesson, Tread softly with the next one that you meet. Remember, this is not "The Mountains of Mourne". You should have known with her accent. That would'nt hold up in court. You were one lucky hombre that she did'nt castrate you.
I was fooled one time by a girl who I dated for a while. Pretty girl, so I overlooked her political persuasions, she had the most unusual blent of british and Texas accents, so when we were in bed one morning, smoking cigarettes she told me she was an ex murderer. I was quick to forgive and let bygones be bygones, we all make mistakes. But later after the relationship went south, I read about her in the newspaper that she was actually an active axe murderer and in police custody!...I felt foolish, but that accent, how could I know?.
Keeping safe on Geebo and other classifieds sites: It is important that you know how to keep yourself and your loved ones safe when using online classified advertising sites. Here are a few reminders: •When selling, do not put your home address in your ad. •To avoid scams, buy and sell with people you can meet locally, in person. •When meeting with someone you don't know, meet in a public place. If that's not possible, have a buddy with you. Also, carry a cell phone; if you feel unsafe, you can call a trusted friend, and stay on the line. •Never give out financial or private information like account numbers, PayPal login, or social security number. •If an offer sounds too good to be true, it is. Walk away! When choosing a classifieds site: •Use only sites where ads are reviewed before they go live on the site rather than relying a flagging or rating system that leaves users vulnerable in the mean time. •Use sites that do not carry adult ads. Not only do these present risks to our children, but they can harbor human trafficking activities that harm people and open the door to other criminal activity. •If you are unsure about the safety of a particular classifieds site, do your own quick research. Type the site's name into Google News or Yahoo! News. Are the results filled with news stories about crime? Then stay away. This is a case where no news is good news!
