vincentruane: You neglected to ask how much money the Irish government pays for the education of foreign children, including English classes. I'll tell you--hundreds of millions a year. Nice luxury for a country to spend hundreds of millions teaching Angolans, Azeris, Albanians, Australians etc.
A few questions for Michael O Leary of Ryanair. How much money does the Irish Government spend every year on interest payments to international banks and how much money does the Irish Government spend on Children's Allowance every year. Second question is this-how much money in subsidy's have you as a businessman received from the Irish Government. And lastly Childrens Allowance for many people in Ireland can be the difference between, parents children going hungry or not in these tough economic times. Now why does your anti family comments, bring the Irish Famine, Queen Victoria and Boycott to mind.
Also the child support scheme is similar to what hitler did in germany - opposed birth control and abortion - more soldiers for the wehrmacht. And the church of course supports "more soldiers for the Popes army
If Michael O'Leary was in charge of sex: men would pay women two euros a go, but women would have to pay 50 euros service charge for dinner and foreplay - plus the men wouldn't take them anywhere they wanted to go, and no late-comers would be accepted.
BRAVO MICHAEL! Once again, Michael O'Leary tells it like it is despite all the ranting loonies on the Left who want to give people everything they demand and have the taxpayer foot the bill. The next martyr for the truth is going to be the Mayor of Naas. He's telling it like it is about dealing with African asylum seekers who demand everything free (paid for by the taxpayer) and being branded as a "racist". AND, he's been reported to the Gardai (police) and could get charged with the EVIL act of racism. In Ireland, if convicted, he coluld go to jail for 2-years. That's longer than many serious assault cases I've seen. Loony land, alright. Bully land for the decent person and the land of milk-and-honey for the parasites, criminals and scam artists.
JessNiLeacai.Becareful what you wish for.Your comment below is the whole reason older wiser people with children put these safety nets in place.Because they know younger single people, maybe like yourself have little understanding of how even one child can change your whole attitude to our nanny state and God help you if you have a sick child. There is a good chance you could be wondering why this nanny state is not helping you more. All this assistance given to people that YOU don't need~YET.
I am no fan of O'Leary but he has a point. The amount of money spent on single mothers- Irish and non Irish citizens is a disgrace. Young girls get pregnant and need not to worry because why would they work, sure having a child in Ireland is like winning the lottery! You get everything handed to you and you don't need to worry but the minute a single person like myself becomes unemployed and needs assistance, I am treated as if I am some criminal and frowned upon. It's a nanny state and I am tired of seeing people abuse the system and half of them don't even care about their children, they're only a meal ticket or a passport as it was before!
People on higher wages shouldn't get it, but cut for everyone? No chance.
Way to go Mike. We need all the publicity and profits you can generate to drive on the share price.
With the amount of tax breaks his pretentious company gets, he would know a lot about hand outs from politicians.
Good thing that subsidy is there. Without it, Ireland would be nothing but Bulgarians and a Museum to the Irish.
