Rush Limbaugh is hopping mad at two of the Supreme Court's recent rulings and he doesn't care who knows it.
But the man who's drawing the most heat from the talk radio pundit is an unlikely pick: Mitt Romney.
According to the Huffington Post, Limbaugh bashed Romney on his show on Tuesday over what he considered the candidate's vague and inadequate response to the Supreme Court's recent immigration ruling.
Last week the Court determined that certain parts of Arizona's controversial immigration policy are unconstitutional. In response to their finding, Romney found himself criticized for what critics called his slow and incoherent response to the decision, offering only that he 'would have preferred to see the Supreme Court give more latitude to the states.'
Romney's reaction drew heavy fire from the man who many consider the true leader of the GOP, who called it 'tepid' and a 'red flag' for the campaign. Limbaugh concluded that 'Mitt Romney blew it' with his response.
'The Romney campaign was not ready for primetime on this illegal immigration Arizona decision,' Limbaugh scoffed, adding that it was the first time he thought that in a while. He added that, apart from this gaffe, he thought the Romney campaign has been doing a 'superb job' responding quickly to developments as they occur.
Immigration is simply too important an issue for Romney to hold back on, Limbaugh added.
Meanwhile, responding to the Court's ruling on the Affordable Care Act, Limbaugh claimed that 'Obamacare is nothing more than the largest tax increase in the history of the world.'
But critics have responded that being a fine-like tax, or penalty, does not equal the 'largest tax increase in the history of the world.' The only ones to pay 'tax' will be the freeloaders who can afford health care and choose not to purchase it, critics contend.

What does Rush Limbaugh have to do with Irish Central?
seanomelb | Jul 03, 2012, 11:14 PM EDT
The only prime time Mitt or Rush deserve is South Park.
johnshiel | Jul 02, 2012, 09:51 AM EDT
re "the largest tax increase in American history", the tax elements of obamacare are vast and varied. Far beyond the one levied on nonpurchasers of approved health policies. Will not try to detail here; just suggesting that you start or continue keeping your ears and eyes open for costs that will phase in during coming years and will cost you dearly, whatever your status.

I manage to listen/watch Chris mathews, Schultz, and maddow, not so hard to listen to other points of view, but insult away, I will have to conclude since I don't think your way I must be belittled, very progressive.
seanomelb | Jul 01, 2012, 07:01 PM EDT
As little as possible Briano its hard to listen to some many lies in such a short period of time. He's just a smear and fear master and if you cannot see that well......

Individual freedom does not prevent one from helping the poor or down on their luck, I believe it takes better care of this population.

so you have not listened to his broadcast, and thank you for calling me a lunatic, it strengthens my resolve. Rules for radicals states to ridicule your opponent to make them back down, do not debate on the merits of the argument. You seem saveable, Ephrainm why not try and save the principles that made America great, you know individual freedom. The signers of the Declaration of Independence did so under penalty of death, they risked everything thankfully defied all odds and allowed the citizens of the United States of America self governess. So unless you truly are wedded to the cause of controlling your fellow citizens this might be a good time to reflect on why America came do be.
EphraimKibbey | Jul 01, 2012, 05:41 PM EDT
@BrianO - Have you considered that maybe YOU have been listening to him TOO long! Denying a fact does not make it untrue, no matter what Rush has said and repeating an untruth multiple times does not make it a fact, no matter how many times Rush says it. Some of us HAVE listened to Beck and Limbaugh and have compared their tirades to the real world and found THEM wanting, not the world. How long must one listen to lunatics before one recognizes them as deranged? How long must one listen to lunatics before one begins to think like them?
eiriamach | Jul 01, 2012, 04:25 PM EDT
Ephraim and McNamara, another problem I see is that the people who listen to him can talk only to each other. If they talk with people who get real news from real journalists, they get hit with real facts, and their Rush-mush-fed brains cannot deal with facts. So the people who absorb Rush by osmosis drift further away from the people who think with facts (even CNN has some objectivity sometimes), and there's no meeting point, no dialogue, anywhere now.

so less than once?

BrianO..Long enough to loose my lunch in disgust..How about you?
McNamara31 | Jul 01, 2012, 11:49 AM EDT
EphraimKibbey I agree. Big money for big outcomes. The creation of "Islands of information" and the impact of corporate media on news and how news is manipulated and delivered should scare all of us.People now go to their "source" solely to have their bias reinforced not to be informed.

My father stepped off the boat at Ellis Island in 1928, just in time for the Al Smith campaign for president, on which he worked, and the great depression. We are a nation of immigrants. Granted, we need to base it more on skills this country needs, a program similar to the one used by Canada, but an expansion none-the-less. A lowered birth rate is, in my opinion, part of the reason Social Security is in trouble. We need skilled English speakers from countries such as Ireland and India to help fill our brain gap and contribute to our social welfare system.

Ephraim, how long have you listened to Rush's broadcasts?
EphraimKibbey | Jul 01, 2012, 01:27 AM EDT
McNamara31 - And he gets paid lots of money for doing it. The really scary part is that there are lots of people out there that actually ENJOY listening to him and scarier yet is the fact that some of them agree with him. EVIL does exist in our world! It is in the hearts of SOME people.
BrianO | Jun 30, 2012, 11:27 PM EDT
mcnamara, how long have you listened to Rush's broadcast?
McNamara31 | Jun 30, 2012, 10:51 PM EDT
Pittsburghkid.. I take full offense that you would say (Limbaugh)a bigoted piece of filth has an Irish heart. This man has no heart or conscience. His style is to set one man against another with bias and racial negative inference.
BrianO | Jun 30, 2012, 08:48 PM EDT

BrianO | Jun 30, 2012, 08:43 PM EDT
Still waiting
seanomelb | Jun 30, 2012, 08:16 PM EDT
Briano don't you think Limbaugh is beyond the pale with his rhetoric.I believe that all views should be aired regardless of ones politics Briano but some broadcasters (left and right)make stupid statements.I wonder what type of audience the appeal to
BrianO | Jun 30, 2012, 05:35 PM EDT
still waiting for Obamas credentials.
eiriamach | Jun 30, 2012, 03:34 PM EDT
Cathy Hayes, couldn't you make that photo of Rushbaugh smaller, like regular size? I couldn't read through the first 5 paragraphs with that face alongside them!
BrianO | Jun 30, 2012, 02:58 PM EDT
Character comparisons between Romney and Obama would be strongly tilted toward Romney. I askedfor some of obama's credentials in several posts but no takers. The only pluses on his part are that he is cool, charismatic, brilliant, smart, all nice adjectives but add nothing. If you wish to say he is a shred deceiver to use as cover during your socialist coup that would at least be honest.
Pittsburghkid | Jun 30, 2012, 01:33 PM EDT
America is being invaded by criminals from South of our Boarder. These criminals have found an confort in the Democrat Party. America is experiencing the same type of invasion as Ireland did, when the Irish King Murtaugh invited Henry II to Ireland. An Irishmen at the time of King Murtaugh would not have believed that some day the Ireland would be speaking English. Today these American invaders refuse to speak English. Obama is ashame of Americans because we only speak one language. Rush may not be of Irish Blood, but he has an Irish Heart.
patrickesq | Jun 30, 2012, 12:36 PM EDT
I would hate to think that Rush was a key policy maker, ideologue, for the Republican Party. I do not recall ever agreeing with any of his pompous criticisms. Yet I think he is right that Romney is not ready to be President, based on his lack of leadership and vision to help solve all of America's economic and social problems. He is too focused in his desire to please the idea loges of the far right
BrianO | Jun 30, 2012, 01:14 AM EDT
Again, the decision had to be deemed a tax to be constitutional, I know most posters below don't care as long as the ends are met, seano I have some respect for your position and your consistency, but be careful what you wish for, the double edge sword that has been forged is very dangerous. I will defend Rush as speaking what he believes and not trying to spin Roberts decision as some smarter than everyone else tactic.
EphraimKibbey | Jun 30, 2012, 12:08 AM EDT
I saw on the news tonight that "Anything For A Buck" Beck is selling tee shirts with Chief Justice Roberts' likeness and the word "COWARD" under the picture. With gold going up, maybe he will not have to suppliment his income this way much longer. Poor man, he is also confusing communists and fascists again. He needs to write himself a notecard explaining that the GOP talking point is that Obama and the progressives are to be called communists or, in less vitriolic moments, socialists but not fascists. The last time he used the latter comparison it cost him his TV show. Its much safer to stick to the GOP talking points.
seanomelb | Jun 29, 2012, 07:26 PM EDT
Limp Limbaugh is now siding with liberals on his assessment of Mitt.Limbaugh and Roberts are having a "Damascus moment".Mitt the desperate is acting more desperate everyday,no substance he's just a "Shallow man"
McNamara31 | Jun 29, 2012, 05:19 PM EDT
Great posts below...Limbaugh is vermin to the airways.
trconnors | Jun 29, 2012, 04:04 PM EDT
why does anyone care what this cow says. His brain is drug damaged and if you believe any of his hatefull, biggoted nonsense , I fear you also have a problem !!!
EphraimKibbey | Jun 29, 2012, 03:29 PM EDT
Don't worry Rushi, Mittens is just the GOP candidate standin. While he spends his money running around the country saying nothing and the Democrats spend their money showing what a baffoon he is, the real convention winner-to-be works in the shadows to ensure his own victory. The REAL Fox News, not the cable baloney but the broadcast network kind, has been tracking the course of the Ron Paul coup on their evening programs in a segment called "Reality Check." Every once in awhile the Maddow show mentions it on MSNBC but the coup only reveals itself long enough to take over the state delegate convention and by then its too late. It has been happening in state after state. Paul ground troops are replacing the other candidates delegates all across the country. They are sueing the GOP to allow them to vote their conscience on the first vote at the convention in Tampa. They have a precedent in a former convention rule that states that no delegate can be required to vote the way his state party directs. An August Surprise! No wonder the GOP can't run the country without running it off a cliff - they can't even run a primary right.
EphraimKibbey | Jun 29, 2012, 03:09 PM EDT
You don't get it! They can't defeat President Obama if they say that the mandate makes sense and it was their idea originally. That makes Obama just look good for copying Romneycare. If Obama is for it it must be bad because he is not REALLY an American. Mittens and the GOP don't REALLY believe in that trickle down stuff they just want the uneducated voters to buy into it so they can get elected and make themselves richer. Anyone who had one college econ course knows it works the other way. While they're at it, they want to gut public education so that no voters will be educated. And just to make the dynasty over throw proof, they want to disenfranchise the poor with voter ID laws.
hollabackgurl | Jun 29, 2012, 02:46 PM EDT
I can't believe they are trying to argue that the penalty for not being responsible enough to select your own health care is being called a 'tax' by some conservatives! What happened to individual responsibility?
hollabackgurl | Jun 29, 2012, 12:39 PM EDT
ktoneill - right! A Romney presidency would be, essentially a 4th Bush term. We barely survived a third.
jerrydonovan | Jun 29, 2012, 12:01 PM EDT
If you want to hear what a hot air balloon sounds like when it springs a major leak, just listen to Limbaugh for about 20 seconds. This man spouts nothing but hot air and he never lets facts or truth get in his way.!I would suggest that this man will single handed destroy the Republican party by forcing it so far to the right that it will make Atilla the Hun look like a liberal.
ktoneill | Jun 29, 2012, 10:17 AM EDT
Just like the Bushman before him he dances around the fire and never acutally says anything that makes sense. If Americans vote in this guy then watch this country go back to the same as the Bush era where the rich will get richer with total disregard for the people who really drive this country. Romney thinks that if the Rich have tax breaks and get richer off the working Americans then they will create more jobs- Rubbish! Jobs left this country by the millions and went to people and places where they could produce product cheaper and quicker. The people who run these company's got so rich they created more jobs in India, China etc.. not America. Wake up, Wake up all of you... Jobs are not coming back unless the government makes it competitive with other countries so when Romney says he'll create jobs that's great, but have you actually heard him say HOW he will create jobs? No! I really believe these guys tell you what you want to hear just to get elected then make excuses.. At least Obama put things in place to dig us out of the hole the GOP put us in. If Europe had not collapsed then no one would complain.
