New parliaments members ignore dress code

Current rules at the Irish parliament state that: “members should dress in a manner that reflects the dignity of the House.”
The Dail Committee on Privileges and Procedures is expected to debate the issue when it sits after Easter.

Show some pride and respect for the office. Even in America where we are very laid back, our representatives dress appropriate.

I can understand the reluctance towards wearing a suit, but some degree of respectful dress code is needed - turning up in a pink T-shirt isn't being respectful no matter what ANY government did to the country. At least the late Tony Gregory TD who started all this off by not wearing a neck-tie, had the common-sense to wear a sports jacket.
