What did you expect when BlueShirts took over the Dail? They won't work on the economy, except to put more out of work and to cut benefits for working people. However, they are more than happy spend hours on a dress code for TD's. Has the "Labour" party chimed in yet. I'm sure they are with the "suits."
Show some pride and respect for the office. Even in America where we are very laid back, our representatives dress appropriate.
I can understand the reluctance towards wearing a suit, but some degree of respectful dress code is needed - turning up in a pink T-shirt isn't being respectful no matter what ANY government did to the country. At least the late Tony Gregory TD who started all this off by not wearing a neck-tie, had the common-sense to wear a sports jacket.
This scruffy lot will make a show of you anywhere.
