It shows he's willing to take a risk, for what he cares about. That is very important as an entrepreneurial skill. I wonder if he saw the Movie 'I Love You, Man'? Really funny! I loved it! Chalk one up for that Irish Paddie!

This might have worked for him, but I'd never hire someone whose focus was his need to be rescued. Instead, I'd be looking for someone who was focused on what he could do for my company, not what I could do for him.
Clever as the billboard idea is, he is branding himself as a victim.

Agree, Cillowen - thinking "outside the box" is necessary - no more sending out mass c.v.'s to employers.
Employers want to see who out there is proactive and intelligent and stands out from the crowd.
