Susan Boyle won't be getting any get-well cards from bad-boy Irish actor Denis Leary. And if she does, she'd better not read them.

In an interview with the blog TV Squad, the star of the hit TV drama "Rescue Me" was prompted to have a rant at a celebrity his interviewer would pick at random. He picked Boyle.

"I think she's a hobbit," began the author of "Why We Suck: A Feel Good Guide to Staying Fat, Loud, Lazy and Stupid."

"The no-expectations aspect was fantastic. I kind of wanted her to be the person who not only could sing, but was gonna tell everyone to f--- off and would become the new sex symbol. I hope she comes back f---ing crazy like Judy Garland on acid. I'd like to feed her a lot of booze and pills and just let her sing beautiful songs and threaten people from the stage."

Boyle, the overnight sensation who charmed the world with her rendition of "I Dreamed a Dream" from the hit Broadway show, "Les Miserables," is trying to get her strength back so she can continue on the "Britain's Got Talent" live tour after coming in second to dance troupe Destiny in the season finale.

Almost immediately after the heartbreaking defeat — which has been called into question by many critics — Boyle checked herself into the Priory clinic in London for rest and treatment for exhaustion. Although she has since left, she canceled one of the BGT live tour performances on the advice of doctors. Heartbroken fans were left at locked theater doors, but almost all said they were "rooting for our Susan."

However, in true trooper spirit, Boyle was bolstered by the opportunity to perform in her native Scotland and took to the stage on Monday night to sing in Glasgow. "She sang in front of 6,000 Scots," a spokeswoman for the BGT live tour told Reuters. "She's ecstatic."

After receiving a standing ovation from her compatriots, it is hoped that Boyle can ride this wave of good will and finish out the tour. It is believed that once the tour wraps up, the 48-year-old will head into the studio to cut her first album, which has a tentative pre-Christmas release date.
