And Éamon Ó Cuív continues his self-imposed, save my place in Fianna Fáil please, please silence!! Gotta think about that pension!!
From another post - O’Cuiv typifies what’s good and bad in the FF approach to politics - he brought a lot of investment and much-needed jobs to the Cornamona, Cloghbrack area and virtually single handedly stopped the local emigration cycle; he got big grants for road improvements, and the roads and general visual appearance were enhanced out of all recognition. BUT it was achieved with ‘pork barrel’ type policies. So I can see why his stock is so high in his own area…but his type of FF clientilism has a very big downside, as seen lately. He’s also not averse to the odd stroke…in one election he dropped the O from his name, so he got to the top of the ballot paper as Cuiv.
This guy's a complete fake.
Fíanna Faíl: The [Irish] Republican(?) Party. A party which censors dissent within it's ranks to foist another sovereignty surrendering treaty to the EuroFeds at the expense of Ireland and the Irish. An opposition which is distinctly un-oppositional? O Cuiv's grandfather, (a belligerent in the 1916 Rising and later patriarch of partitionist nationalism by default), was originally a Sínn Féiner who fought for Irish independence from British rule. O'Cuiv should have defected to Sinn Fein, which would have been a case of back-to-the-future! Still time yet - Eamon béag! Eamon a dó!
pilib04 I think bythebay is a plant just to stir the pot, your thoughts!
Thank you for your commentary US living Bythebay.
Éamon Ó Cuív has decided to be silent on the Financial Treaty. He's staying in Fianna Fáil. Self-interest has won. US born Dev would indeed be proud
