Springfield9:cruel just cruel...I often wondered what Martin Johnson would do when he lost his looks...Ms Bookes resigned no doubt with a pair of 24 carat golden handcuffs and a golden gag...she did the needful for Murdoch and still holds the trump card...machiavellian...? just a bit...we haven't heard the last of Rebekah...The 9/11 stuff will finish Murdoch...at least in it's present guise but who knows just how many disguises dis guy's got...ok I'm goin' now...!

She is the Roger Clemens of newspapers. Could she have accomplished all she did without hacking people's phone messages? Could Roger have won as many games in his later career without drug enhancements? As with Roger, she might also luck out due to sloppy prosecution tactics.

throwing a piece of meat out of window is always employed.
It seems to work - at work or elsewhere.

she should have stepped down some time ago...her company is the dregs..she has responsibility for what she allowed ..lose the red hair...do not want anyone to think of you as a celt..get a real job..Murdoch thought of her as a daughter..enough said....it takes one to know one...I am sure she will get a nice severance package...she should be just fine...how about the poor unfortunates who have no job, thanks to her....

@Searlit: There are far more important stories that an editor resigning from a newspaper because somebody else did a stupid deed....How's about Irish Central helping to expose all corrupt traitorous Irish Politicians who steal from the Irish People. Irish Politicians who do not recognise Irish People in law. How's about exposing a corrupt Irish court system. Far better stories in this world.

For what they did ( News of the World and International ) it was sickening and all involved should be made to answer.
