New poll shows massive 15 percent lead over Mitt Romney

President Barack Obama
President Barack Obama is winning the Catholic vote in the race to the White House by a country mile.
Obama may be taking flak from Catholic prelates but his popularity is growing with their flock.
New opinion polls commissioned by the Pew Research Center point to a 15 point lead for Obama over Mitt Romney.
Reports say the Pew poll left the 44th president with a 54-39 percent lead over Romney among American Catholics.
Analysts say Obama is running even with Romney among white Catholics but has overwhelming support with Latino Catholics.
The new poll is a major boost for Obama who led by only two points, 49-47 percent, among Catholic voters in June.
Catholic support for Obama is growing despite Romney’s decision to run Paul Ryan, a Catholic, as his vice presidential nominee.
Obama’s popularity is also growing amongst Catholics despite the move taken by America’s bishops earlier this year when they went to court against a mandate that requires church-affiliated universities and hospitals to offer contraception coverage in health care plans for their employees.
The bishops also promoted a ‘Fortnight for Freedom’ campaign leading up to July 4th with demonstrations against alleged threats to religious liberty.
But reports say their actions were overshadowed by ‘Nuns on the Bus’, a 14-state tour by a group of Catholic nuns in protest at cuts in federal social services contained in a proposed budget of which Rep. Ryan is the prime sponsor.
Bishop John Paprocki of Springfield, Illinois, entered the Presidential debate this week when he accused Democrats of explicitly endorsing intrinsic evils like same-sex marriage and abortion rights.
The bishop claimed: “A vote for a candidate who promotes actions or behaviors that are intrinsically evil is gravelly sinful and makes you morally complicit and places the eternal salvation of your soul in serious jeopardy.”

So,just saw a new poll showing President Obama has over 70%
of the Hispanic Vote,and when you add these new polls and watch Landslide Obama lead over Willard Mitt the Zombie Romney,that comes to the fall Romney and Lying Ryan and the
RNC are looking the worst total defeat for the Republicans
since the LBJ vs Barry Goldwater. And so,the GOP/Tea Party
brought this all on itself for nominating the two worst
Presidential and Vice President Candidates Willard Mitt the
Nit Wit Romney and Mini_Mitt Lying Paul Ryan in 2012! And,
has once again proven Einstein's Simple Definition of Insanity of "Doing the same dumb thing over and over again

This is a really dumb question. The pre-born don't have the capacity to speak because their consciousness (awareness) has yet to develop.
Becoming human is a process. A fetus is not an adult or a child. Conflating these states of development reveals a profound misunderstanding of biology and human development
The only thing that sustains the argument that a pre-born has the same status and rights as a child or an adult
is the notion that an eternal soul is somehow injected into a cell that has just divided due to fertilization and that makes the cells "human".
This is a belief that is simply not shared by a very large percent of the population. As such the arguments for recognizing a fetus as equivalent to a child or an adult in the eyes of the law will never be acceptable to enough people for this to become law.
A effort to pass a "personhood" law (M-312) was overwhelmingly defeated in the Canadian Federal Parliament just this past week.
Do yourselves a favour Smyrnian and pick something else to campaign about.

As a son, husband, brother,father and grandfather, I am amazed at the lop sided male representation in support of the women in their lives and on this earth! These men disrespect their own mothers, insult their mates and happily condemn daughters and grand daughters to second class citizenship. Is your masculinity so fragile that you willingly allow other "men" to establish rules that discriminate against your flesh and blood and others? Is the Catholic Church so weak in its convictions that the very thought of women in leadership roles is seen as a threat to survival? It is apparent to anyone who can think that a majority of male Republicans feel threatened by women. Abortion is the issue used by these eunuchs to appear valiant when they are in fact wimps! There are many issues aimed at keeping women as second class. Real men will stand beside the women in their lives and be partners in seeing that discrimination in the church and in this country is ended now and for all time. Remember even most of the "founders" were sexist, but even they were united in founding a country free from religious interference.."there will be no State religion"

eiriamach - "Women's reproductive choices"? You have drank way too much of the liberal Kool Aid. Is that all it is, a "reproductive choice" for one person to arbitrarily end the life of another, often by partial dismemberment in late stage gestation? I wonder what the baby would have to say about that but the baby has no rights, of course. It's a one party transaction with nobody else having any rights, especially the victim. It's amazing how liberals find torturous ways to avoid saying the word abortion; "choice" being their favorite euphemism. Sickening.

Men should ask what it is that women realize and men ignore about the science and ethics of human reproduction and the science and ethics of human sexuality, including homosexuality. Then they might understand why the Sept. 18-24 Quinnipiac survey shows ~~Florida women likely voters back Obama 58 percent to Romney's 39 percent. FL Men are 50 percent for Romney and 47 percent for Obama. ~~Women likely voters in Ohio support Obama 60 percent to Romney's 35 percent. Ohio men support Romney by 52 percent to Obama's 44 percent. ~~Pennsylvania women likely voters back Obama by 58 percent to Romney's 37 percent. PA men split 49 percent for Romney and 48 percent for Obama. These are huge differences that show some men so ideologically blinded on these issues that they cannot grasp relevant facts (such as McNamara 31 and branagh and EphraimK explain here) and cannot do their own moral reasoning about them. It won't matter to the election--Obama will win. But it will matter greatly on the day after the election, when right-wing Catholic ideologues wake up and realize that they have no way to adjust to the reality of women's reproductive choices and homosexual civil rights equal to everyone else's. Will they continue to spew insults and hatred for Obama and his supporters, or will they find some measure of respect for the consciences of other Americans, who do their own thinking?

Again, the Catholic vote is split, with the majority of Obama Catholic vote coming from the hispanic block, thar may change now that univision has decided to do some actual reporting on the fast and furious murders in Mexico.

russm535il.... Just like all the Commandments, I personally believe we stand in judgment. The area I am trying to bring to the forefront is the political hypocrisy surrounding this is issue and the application of who the church decides to show their wrath against. The Democratic Party has been the party with the people in mind. Social security, Medicare, healthcare, fair days pay for a fair days work, all Democratic principles. Feeding the poor (food stamp programs) are not only Democratic principles, but Christian one's as well. The GOP on the other hand is pro corporation, not for safety nets and have a “let em stand on their own mentality” to the poor, sick and elderly. They support deregulation that pollutes air and water and sickens many children, they support the lobbing group ALEC that goes around the country enabling legislation that makes it harder for patients to bring action against drug companies whose drugs have harmed or killed children. Then all of a sudden when it comes to abortion, they find a “conscience”. When you look at the entire GOP platform in context one realizes they "use" the abortion issue for their own political purposes.

As a catholic born and raised how is Rudy Giuliani communion he was married more then once.
What gets to me as a catholic in my early 70's married to the same man for 56 going on 57years how people who have been gotten married more then once in the RC Church . How do they get that approved?????? did the OLD MAYOR have a affair???? and marry a much younger women OOPS my mistake more then once
