This online rag prints the same garbage as the BBC. Oh that's right.....you owe England so much money, you are now England!
The writers on here are ALL far left.
I have never read such garbage...ever. The Ireland that once was..is gone. Good luck at finding a Irish shop in Dublin. You know, one one owned by Irish peoples and the goods from Ireland.
So keep leaning towards the left...govt handouts for the little people.
Smarten up!

@branagh, I thought this was about Catholics supporting Obama. With Sex Education and Contraception, Abortion has increased throughout the world. Both Muslims and the Pope agree that abstinence is the only sure way to stop unwanteed pregnancies and the spread of hiv's. If you wish to advocate abortion you should go to a different article. If you wish to talk about reasons for supporting Obama then confront the lies of the greedy bankers, speculators, etc who continue to wallow in riches while the ordinary tax-payers pay with their jobs and their childrens' futures.

What the h#!!? What Catholic would vote for a president who promotes partial birth abortion? A barbaric practice where the head of a full term baby is delivered through the birth canal and then scissors are plunged into the base of the babys' scull and the brains are suctioned out! All I can say is God help us and there is still plenty of room in Hell!

Lots of hate, rubbish, brain deficit stuff here. You might suppose that people deeply concerned about abortion (I am one BUT pro-choice) might bother to address this: a huge dent in the numbers of abortions could occur if,first, children some time before they become sexually active were educated throughly in the home,in the community,in the school about human sexuality. Second, if such children were informed thoroughly on means to avoid pregnancy and STDs and provided the means to protect against both if requested. The disaster is that the RCC is vehemently opposed to these 2 components which might reduce drastically unwanted pregnancy and abortions. Do the Hierarchy want more abortions or not? This is a reasonable question based on their conduct. Note Pope Benedict in a lie that was as bad as holocaust denial stated that condoms do not prevent AIDS - these are the lunatics we have to confront. For people who oppose abortion, doesn't it make sense as well for the US as a society to treasure every expectant mother, provide outstanding pre-natal,peri-natal care, ensure that the mother that whatever her financial circumstances, she and her child will be generously provided for. On this latter aspect 2 items: Democrats aligned with the NUNS this is their fundamental belief while Repubs want to gut all these 47% needy dependant programs. Second, get a life IC right-wing posters-the USA is last of every nation of the developed world,in quality of pre-natal care,in peri-natal mortality, in maternal mortality and every study indicates many more mothers would keep their babies if there was a way a good life was offered them. What a soul-less IC poster community that the post here (I exclude EphraimK and a few others) are just hate, venom, racist, stupid, and not EVEN ONE of the anti-abortion faction bothered to offer something which might reduce abortion rates-you wonder if it's not abortion that motivates them but hate and racist politics.

There are a lot of "Catholics" that do not follow church teachings . Let's call them for all intents and purposes non Catholics.
Practicing Catholics in the lower classes are voting as they want more subsidies. All they will get is more taxes

Patrick Counihan, STOP......with all the leftist crap to sway the vote. There are no Catholics for Obama unless they are just like him. Ignorant, no experience, a fraud, a liar, had to forfeit his law license, and emulates Saul Alinsky and Karl Marx. Please, take time to educate yourself.

SherryKay, you got a bit turned around: just who are the "American jobs destroyer...hateful wimpy...greedy money hungry parasites, tax cheaters and draft dodgers total losers." (Did you even come up for air with that sentence?) Let's see, there are now less jobs than when Mr Obama took office, did Mitt destroy them? Most all of those folks who would lead us are greedy, money hungry-just look at all the "good fortune" the Obama's have had since going to Washington, along with securing their dream house in Hyde Park (snazzy Chicago neighborhood) with the help of Tony Rezko (now convicted of corruption). Tax cheats? You are accusing someone of a felony. Them rich folk with lot's of income and various investments get examined a lot more often that us ordinary mortals, such mischief would have hit the papers a long time ago. Paying tax a lower statutory rate is not a crime, it's obeying the law that others have written. Draft dodgers, hey, most of this generation was, except for me and Raftree and Murph, but we're too busy to run for such office.
