President Clinton had attended the Irish Diaspora economic forum in Dublin in September and had undertaken to host an event for potential investors in Ireland in New York.

The day-long event consist of two meetings, the first with a core group of 25 leading businessmen, then a meeting with 100 Irish American community leaders.

On Wednesday, Enda Kenny laid out his hopes and expectations for the conference.

"At this special event in New York, the President and I will meet with a number of senior US executives who do not yet have substantive business interests here," the Taoiseach said.

"This is a unique opportunity to engage with the highest levels of the international business world - to promote Ireland as an investment destination, and is yet another manifestation of how to achieve the mission of the global Irish making a difference together."

Agree with you Brennan.
This is great for Ireland. Something that should be continued. However, alot of the cranks on this site hate Pres. Clinton. Clinton has been the best friend Ireland has ever had. Ask the Irish! Ireland has very few people like Pre. Clinton, in its corner, that always try to help.
