The Irish Times survey of TD penalty points finds that TDs tend to have more penalty points on their driver records than the general population. Typically the points are for speeding rather than drink driving.

Given Daly's agenda which concerned itself with her claim that gardai were knocking off penalties for certain people, she might have taken greater care to avoid drinking and then driving. As TD she has a high profile and anything she does can attract attention from both the public and other like the guard.
