Red-faced cops admit they made a major mistake in Derry

Northern Ireland police were left red-faced and forced to apologize when they ruined an Irish chef’s wedding to his pregnant Chinese bride – just as the happy couple were about to say ‘I Do.'

Neil McElwee and his teenage bride Yanan Sun have demanded answers after police interrupted their marriage ceremony at Derry’s Guidhall.

Their actions were prompted by an anonymous letter which claimed ‘immigration irregularities’ and that the wedding was a ‘sham.'

McElwee, a 24-year-old chef from Tyrone, has lodged an official complaint with authorities after five guests at the wedding, including the groom and his pregnant bride (19), were arrested and taken away for questioning.

“It was absolutely disgraceful. My wife is five-and-a-half months pregnant and they just treated her in a disgusting fashion,” said McElwee.

“One guest said it felt like a wake. It was a nightmare. It is just a disgrace and a shambles, the police know it was a shambles themselves.

“We did not get to our reception until 8.30pm at night. I won’t be happy until I get a proper explanation.”

One of the five arrested was held to answer charges over her immigration status.

The zenophobic posts here aside, the couple have every right to be outraged by the PSNI attack on their wedding. Those posting here with their vicious zenophobic posts, should apply for membership in the Orange Order or the KKK where they would certainly be quite welcome!
The Chinese pay a lot of money for citizenship. Once naturalized, they divorce and remarry again and again. How do you think they can afford to open a restaurant and drive BMWs? Fathers will sell their own daughters in marriage to the highest bidder. If this is indeed an honest union, it would be a rarity.
They're so unfriendly in the North. In the South, the presiding officer introduces the bride to the groom before the ceremony starts, arranges for an interpreter between them if the groom hasn't brought his own, and makes sure bride receives her fee (about $5k) before she goes home to her night job in Latvia.
Get the letter writer...Start with an ex girlfriend or a parent. If in fact there actually is a letter, it will not be hard to trace.
Find and "PROSECUTE" THE PERSON WHO WROTE THE "letter"!! Should bring some consolation!
blow-outs outnumbering blowins but not fot too long.
