Greywolf, why are you on this site? So eating green mashed potatoes is how everyone celebrates this day? This is one of the reasons why irish people dont consider Americans with irish links Irish! Ridiculous.
Obama will have all Christian holidays banned if he is reelected. This surrogate of The Evil One is just showing Obama's hand earlier. We should all be afraid. When Shiara Law is outlawed in the US, when Muslims are identified as our enemy, then I will look the other way on this issue.
I'm Irish and i agree. Call it Green Day. Fine with me. I must admit I don't personally know st patrick so i don't mind in the least.
The Irish are the most Liberal political correct people on earth. This story will get hardly a shoulder shrug in Ireland. The Country that places "diversity and multiculturalism" at the top of the agenda. Come over, stay a few years and ye will see the light!
This is going too far. I am not of Irish decent and never really celebrated St. Patrick's Day but I NEVER felt left out or offended by it. As long as we allow these liberal educators AND POLITICIANS continue this ridiculousness, we will continue to trend towards becoming a nation of Pu**ies. If we start changing these then as another commenter noted..what about MLK day...or Black History month. How are those inclusive? To the parents of Wilbraham...get her out of there...
Principals seem to be going beyond the pale in order to avoid controversy of any kind. This one is just plain stupid.
I am an African American with Irish roots(along with traces of other nationalities) and it doesn't surprise me that America is trying to become more & more secular by removing anything that has to do with religion from the American culture. I wonder what people think the world was founded upon. Of course we are a diverse nation, founded on religious priniciples & morals. If you don't agree, don't celebrate it, however don't change it all together...WOW!
professing themselves to be wise, they become as fools. And thats exactly what this idiot is a fool. These PC people are the most intolerant people you could meet, and have no clue about the real world and dont seem to understand that the world naturaly is a diverse place and we have to acknowledge that and get along with each other not make belief that and kid on that differences dont exist by changing names of holidays.
About the Massachusetts school principal, I say to those in the school district- GET THAT FOOL OUT OF YOUR SCHOOL!
Has she tried changing MLK holiday? Would like to see that happen
These are the people who teach our children. Sad commentary.
ITS ST. PATRICK'S Day Don't worry about it....Lisa my dear, even the Wasp community of Wilbraham does not care..
Political correctness at it's finest! And if you wanted to remove the Catholicism part, why call it O"Green Day? Why not O"Orange Day?
How ridiculous; the majority of celebrations that occur are decidedly secular- besides over 50% of Americans have no idea what the origins of St. Patrick's Day are. Certainly, most have no clue about St. Valentine. This woman needs to get a life and stop forcing her own personal biases on others.
What an Intellectual IDIOT!!!!!
