Our Summer Vacation Photo Competition closed on Sept 15 and we are delighted to announce our winner as Harriette Majoros from Marietta, GA. Her entry was a beautiful photo of a Connemara horse taken in the spring of this year. Well done Harriette!
Harriette told IrishCentral how she captured the shot: ”My husband and I were on a narrow two lane road on the Connemara peninsula. We passed this horse but a short way down the road, I found a rock barn covered with beautiful pink vines which I wanted some photos of.
“I took those pictures and when we turned around and went back, I was hoping against hope that he was still there. The pony was still standing just has it had been almost 10 min before. I rolled down my car window, took the picture and he just turned and walked off. One shot that was all I got.”
Harriette is delighted with her win, saying, “I was just elated. I have never ever entered a photo contest before. This will not be the last! At 70, I can not tell you what a ego boost this is!”
When Harriette receives her prize of a gift basket of Irish goodies, she plans to share them with her friends and family who helped her to win by voting for her on our Facebook page.
We would like to thank everyone for entering such wonderful photos. All of us in the IrishCentral.com team really enjoyed seeing the new entries every day.
