You've got the bull by the horns wounded brain.Only citizens (like myself) may get the vote.I'm sure glad you won't.
The point about the diaspora of 70 million is totally irrelevant, as Wounded Knee says. No one is talking about giving 70 million people the vote - it's about citizenship, not a made-up figure about how many people can claim to have had an Irish ancestor.
Another crazy idea from Fianna Fail.
When will writers like O'Shea and others stop citing their (inflated) figures for the so-called Irish Diaspora. The 50 million or so throughout the world who can claim some ancestral relationship with Ireland won't be getting the vote. It's nonsense to mention them in the context of this debate. The actual number of Irish passport holders living overseas (and we won't count those with Irish passports issued by Israel) is a little over one million.
Wee Willy the browbeaten scot on his usual bigoted campaign again
Mary McAleese's loyalty to Rome is unquestionable which is not the same as being loyal to the Irish state. She's gone off with a hefty sum of taxpayers money so she can study the laws of the Vatican.
Is Fíanna Fáil's Senadóir Uí Dalaigh really concerned about the Irish nationalists/republicans in teh 6 counties of Ulster/NI, or is he/they merely trying to steal Sínn Féin's thunder? Whilst NI isn't overseas, it is a special case. Votes for all Irish people everywhere, whether in NI/GB/UK or Timbuctu.
