The Irish have voted and almost unanimously. A new survey carried out by TheJournal.ie found that only three percent of Ireland’s population would vote for the Republican nominee Mitt Romney, while 51 percent would re-elect the Democrat’s nominee, Barack Obama. The survey was responded to by 5,000 people
With less than a hundred days to election day it seems that the Irish have all but made up their mind on who they would like to see in the Oval Office and the White House next year.
Here’s how the results breakdown - Barack Obama received 51 percent (2588) of the vote while the Republican nominee received just three percent (163). Six percent of Irish voters said they “don’t care” who takes on the role of President of the United States and 39 percent said they were undecided.
The massive undecided vote seems to show no huge affection for Obama but an unwillingness to even consider Romney.
Irish American Democrats in Ireland have organized an Obama fundraiser for Ollie Hayes’ bar in his ancestral home in Moneygall which the President visited during his time in Ireland last year.
In the United States according to the latest Quinnipiac University survey shows Obama has the edge over Romney in the three battle ground states of Pennsylvania (53 to 42 percent) Ohio (50 to 44 percent) and Florida (51 to 45 percent).
Peter Brown, assistant director of the Quinnipiac University Polling Institute, said “The president is running better in the key swing states than he is nationally.”
Reuters reports a tight race nationwide with their own, Reuters/Ipsos poll, last month showing Obama’s standing among US voters closley matched by Romney.
What do you think? Could the Irish get their wish and have Barack Obama re-elected as President of the United States after November’s election?

Joanxis-- Where can I see his past records ?? It seems that even Donald Trump and many others couldn't. Even his "classmates" at Columbia U. said he was not in their pre-law class. They did find out that he did belong to a "socialist youth organization while there --

Eiriamach, When I sell my home I will not be assessed a 3.8% tax being collected for the "free" healthcare act, I will also not be assessed a $1 tax per banking transaction to pay for "free" healthcare. Romney would control the debt problem instead of the QE1,QE2, and proposed QE3. I would benefit by the expulsion of the racist attorney general Holder. I would have a budget proposed that at least some members of congress could vote for. I would have a president that is proud of success.
BrianO | Aug 07, 2012, 05:24 PM EDT
joanxis you are right you can find some things about Obam,in his book he says taht he drank and smoke pot through high school was generally non motivated, he admits to bulling a girl, he believed his grandmother was a typical white person paranoid, it is known he kick off his political career from Bill Ayers living room, it is known he was a follower of Reverend wrights church, It's known he like to play up his kenyan ancestry including it on his book cover as born in kenya, it is known he did cocaine, it is known when state senator he voted present 130 times, it is known he claims to be achicago white sox fan but when questioned about who his favorite player was growing up he could not come up with a singlr name. These are just of the top of my head and do not include the things people think he did.

My God, peterson, if you can't find any information on Obama's past, then you aren't looking. There is tons of info on his past. What does get a life mean? I have a very nice life, thank you.

Joanxis---How come they cannot find anything about Obama's past ??? What are they hiding ?? Has he had any experience that would be of value to the USA ?? Get a life !!

It says Irish...from Ireland...if you are not an Irish citizen you are not Irish...not even a little bit..it's citizenship..obviously we are not voting in the US election so you Romney lovers..relax...chill....stop having verbal out loud nervous breakdowns and just vote...In Ireland honestly nobody cares who wins Romney or Obama...it's not important to us...it should not bother you that another country or ethnicity is politically different...Obama would not even be considered to the left here he would be centre right....you would consider our lefties commies....but thats ok ..i wish America all the best no matter who they choose or which ay they go i respect their choices..and i hope they respect ours...there is very little common ground for Americans and Irish people why should there be? We are foreign countries that don't (if we are being honest and get rid of the sentimentality ) matter much to each other any more. Ireland is just not important in the minds of Americans and America does not feature in the minds of Irish people..but we can be polite as we would to any foreign nation

As an Irish American I would never vote for Romney. He is so out of touch with what is happening in my life. At least Barack Obama and Teddy Kennedy tried to help us all get health insurance. It is a first step. The Health Bill was a life long struggle of Teddy Kennedy who for all his money, personal problems both public and private was still more in touch with the poor of this country than any other politician. Our financial melt down both at home and world wide was not caused by Obama he inherited a huge mess. Even the most learned of the financial wizards can't come up with a solution. When you attempt to unravel the mess and understand it it's mind boggling and the average person cannot fathom what has gone wrong. It is much the same as WOMD-Weapons of Mass Destruction. Falsify some information, use some decades old reports, don't even make corrections to the misspellings and act upon such information. How easily Bush and Blair were fooled. Hey after all is said and done Obama had the guts to give the order to shoot BenLadin. Thank God we will not spend millions of dollars trying to figure out what to do with him, he is just gone. It takes courage to give that order and then to watch it unfold before you-Courage. Do you think Romney could have given that order? Nah. Do you think Romney will pull us out of Afghanistan an faster than Obama? Nah. Do you think Romney understands being a few months behind on your electric bill? Nah. What role was Romney roaming around Olympic Village as? He is a nobody, an old governor and hopefully not even close to the presidency. What the hell was he there for anyway? I for one have an affinity for Obama and he needs to remain in office, 4 years is not enough time to repair the mess left by Bush.

The Obama haters have not mentioned even one fact in support of their attitude. Nonetheless, they are SO emotional that I wonder what they'd motivates them! I'd like to believe that American voters do some reading about the candidates and some thinking before they go to the polls. So I challenge the Obama haters to tell us just ONE specific way your specific life will be better if Romney is elected, just one: will your paycheck or business bottom line have more money in it because you'll be paying less in taxes? Will your soldier son or daughter come home from Afghanistan because Romney will end the war? Will you get a Defense Dept. contract because Romney will have a huge defense budget? Will that Latino family that lives in your town and you suspect they're illegal be deported? Will you receive a $10,000 check for leasing your property to a gas company for fracking because Romney will remove all restrictions on drilling? Just ONE specific way your life will improve under a Romney presidency....

kaydog1 I loved it when people (like yourself) throw every smear and slander, and then finish up with a "Thank God" So hypocritical its nauseating.
joanxis | Aug 03, 2012, 09:21 PM EDT
Peterson - What you said is your opinion, which you are entitled to. How about some facts to back up your claim that Obama is a liar and is the worst pres. And facts about why Romney would be better?
johnshiel | Aug 03, 2012, 07:15 PM EDT
this is disgusting tripe... who gives a eff what "the Irish" think about O' vs. Mitt??? Now if we're talking money contributed that begins to show on the radar... But can we first have a big slimy ruckus about just who is "Irish" and then chuck the mess down the slop hole? Of some interest would be how Irish Americans actually vote this fall, and how they actually vote R vs. D in election after election... I'd look for a steady shift and increase from D to R. Achieving, wising up, etc. People living in U.S. and Eire cannot possibly grasp each other's politics unless they live away from home long enough for home to change names. Just sayin'...
kaydog1 | Aug 03, 2012, 07:02 PM EDT
Humorous article, and there certainly seems to be a lot of Leftists in Ireland, so maybe it's even accurate. I understand that Brother Barack is also ahead in Cuba, Venezuala, North Korea, People's Republic of China, Iran, Yemen, Mexico, and a whole slew of other Communist, Totalitarian, or Islamic nations, and he's gotten the endorsement of the American Communist Party (yeah, they're actually different from the Democrat Party, go figure...) Hey, I guess 'like calls out to like'. Thank God that these people can't actually legally pull a lever for Obama, although he's trying hard with the Mexicans....
peterson | Aug 03, 2012, 06:53 PM EDT
Where the H--- did you get your information ??? Romney is far better than Obama. Obama is a proven liar about many things and the worst president the USA has ever had !!
joanxis | Aug 03, 2012, 04:20 PM EDT
Calm down, Madeliene. You'll have a stroke. I wonder where in the Hell you get your information. Obama has been our president for nearly 4 years and there's no proof of any of your accusations. Instead of all of this vitriolic name calling - if you don't like Obama - why don't you do something positive and do some intelligent research and prove your accusations.
citizen69 | Aug 03, 2012, 02:34 PM EDT
Why does the photo above show a British flag behind Romney and a US flag behind Obama? Subliminal propaganda by Irish Central? I doubt this is a very reliable poll as it was conducted on a website and thereby open to anyone around the world with an internet connection and very easy to influence. Either way yet another stupid article.

Thank God we do not look to the Irish to advise or decide our elections. Their elections are so screwed up as is their economy. They would do better to just try and solve their own enormous problems and leave the Americans to decide their own fate. That said, I have a suggestion for them, please come and take Obama over there to run your country, you think you have problems now, with him there for 3 months you will think these days were paradise.
Newrone | Aug 02, 2012, 08:11 PM EDT
It doesn't matter who the President is. The "Federal" Reserve clique is above him & rules America & Americans don't even know their names. The same cannot be said of even Iran or China.
As long as presidential campaigns are financed without limits by private individuals & institutions, the US President, whoever he is, will remain a pawn in their pockets.
US "democracy" & "free" speech is like trying to move mountains by shouting at them. And then feeling privileged that you were allowed your say.
lokionline | Aug 02, 2012, 07:51 PM EDT
The average Irish citizen living in Ireland knows a lot more about the US and world affairs than the average 2nd generation or more Irish-American knows about Ireland or world affairs in general.
This knowledge gap is easily explained due to the amount of US and world news that is available to the average Irish citizen through their news media. Very little Irish news and a weak flow of world news make it into US left-wing and main stream media and practically none in the right wing-media .
This knowledge gap is very noticeable and most strongly on view when 2nd generation and more Republican Irish-Americans comment.
Clearly the average Irish citizen has assessed Romney and he comes up short.

I am disappointed that President Obama kept so many Republicans in office, like Geitner, Bernieke & Vilsack to name a few. I was expecting better than this. It's almost like he tied his own hands from day one. Then he let a mandate be put into the healthcare bill, without adding a public option. This is why many us are not as enthusiastic about his campaign, this time. However, compared to any of the Republicans, he looks like a genius.
eiriamach | Aug 02, 2012, 07:19 PM EDT
joanxis writes, "You people scare the bejesus out of me, you are so ill informed about the president." It sure looks that way! Scary as all get-out, but scarier still is the thought that these wannabe-millionaire Romney votaries might actually cast votes in November.
connemaragirl | Aug 02, 2012, 06:54 PM EDT
How soon every one has forgotten how we got into this mess and Obama has been doing his best to get us back on track, not an easy task I might add .You bet I'm voting for Obama not perfect but who is,considering the alternative,Flip Flop Flip Flop !an ejjit if you ask me,not that anyone asked me,those of you thinking of voting for Romney better do your home work.
connemaragirl | Aug 02, 2012, 06:08 PM EDT
The Irish have been oppressed for so long that they think Big Brother government is their friend. Will you ever be truly free of England until you stand up and take the shackles off of yourselves? Big Brother Obama would take care of you if you voted for him.....and raise your taxes, and impose his health care mandate on all, even those who want to be independent of it. Ireland, grow up and stand on your own two feet. A vote for Obama is a vote to have someone take care of you. Don't let that happen to you. I am so glad the survey was pure fantasy.
mccannon | Aug 02, 2012, 06:04 PM EDT
I always thought the people in Ireland were smarter than that! I guess when you have a media that doesn't tell you the truth about Obama you wouldn't have a clue. You don't have alternatives like we do here. He has destroyed America and we can't wait to get rid of him! We will gladly hand him over to you guys in November if you want the sorry man! Go Romney!
joanxis | Aug 02, 2012, 06:03 PM EDT
When I finished reading this article I said to myself - "Oh Boy, are we ever going to get an earful against Obama - and was I right. Out of the 70 comments only 3 or 4 were positive about Obama. I knew that most responders would be against him. I just didn't realize how many. You people scare the bejesus out of me, you are so ill informed about the president. I proudly voted for Pres. Obama 4 years ago and intend to vote for him again. He's definitely not perfect but who is? He has done a lot for America and he is definitly not the socialist, Marxist, King wanna be, racist, Muslim, foreign and all of the other horrible names you guys like to call him. He is a decent Christian man who has only the best interest for the American people. Of course I know that none of you will agree with me, but I don't give a hoot. If anyone even reads this,it will just give you more fodder for all of your remarks. Love you McNamara 31. You're an intelligent person.

I trust that our Irish friends can take the (not unusually) ignorant and hate filled right wing rants with the good humor we Yanks have to. Praise God the benighted really do believe that the Irish (who have recently been exposed first hand to both our candidates) won't influence their friends and relations on this side of the pond - it is one more step on the road to re-electing a great President. The vote will not be a "landslide," and the key will be turning out the voters, but the vast majority in the U.S. are overwhelmingly fed up with the lies the right wing has been shoveling for decades now and terrified of going back to the precipice of a new Depression where George W. Bush and his Tea Party twits left us. Like almost everyone I know, this registered and active Republican is reluctantly crossing party lines to support the most MODERATE and effective president we've had since Dwight Eisenhower, that loyal son of Hawaii and Illinois (and with a delightful few Irish ancestors as well), Barack Obama!

Who honestly cares? The Irish in Ireland are not voting in this election. Assuming this poll is even accurate (which I hardly do), it only shows how embarrassingly wrong they are -- and how irrelevant (not to mention how deep into white guilt, they are). This will not affect a single vote, in the USA. Americans don't care what Europeans think...and any who do are among the fewer and fewer who back Obama, anyway.

@ blackstone,I could not care less who is elected, but I have listened to both over the last few months,to be quiet blunt about it Romney is a twit, Obama is a bit better but you will elect someone approved by Israel, remember what Ariel Sharon said "Don’t worry about American pressure on Israel. We,the Jewish people, control America, and the Americans know it.” By the way America owes China alone $1.2 trillion. makes our problem seem very small.

Thank God those voters are in Ireland and not here. Almost every Irish friend I have here will vote for "ABO". (stands for anybody but obama) He runs around the country crying about how nothing gets done in D.C. instead of being in D.C. trying to get things done. Bill Clinton had to deal with Republicans for a great deal of time and still was able to get things done by being at his workplace, D.C., and doing what he was elected to do. This guy stays away so he doesn't have to deal with others and thinks crying about it is doing his job.

His birth certificate is a fake, he's here illegally, worships a false god, allah and is a fool. He never spent enough time as a senetor to qualify for running for president and he made America broke, no jobs, he keeps spending the money that we don't have and to be honost, I think he's here to destroy the U.S. financially, which so far is all in his favor. What I can't believe, is that my people, the Irish, would even be on the same page as this satanic piece of crap. Why??? Confounds me to no end. He's the worst president that the U.S. has ecer had, ever!!! I'd rather have Nixon as president than obama, he was a far better president than this stupid guy. Let's do some math. 51 3 is not unanimous. 6 didn't care and 39 were undecided. How about that book by Jodi Kantor in which Michelle attacked Irish politicians in Illinois. Dan Ryan as the candidate of choice for the Senate and the Obama crowd "moved" him out of the way. I agree with the 39%. However, this election is anything but over. Just dig deeply into what is going on in the Middle East. Hillary and the bois are supporting the Muslim Brotherhood. There are U.S. troops in Turkey waiting to follow up on the executive order from Obama to overthrow Assad.
Byrne P | Aug 02, 2012, 12:00 PM EDT
The 5,000 people in this poll are all brainwashed by the Liberal Mainstream Media who can see no wrong in whatever Obama does. The Irish people seem to be all left-wing lately and never stop to ask a question anymore such is the power of the Guradian and Times etc. The New York Times is the propoganda wing of the Obama Administration.
judiron | Aug 02, 2012, 11:59 AM EDT
I'm so glad the Irish want Obama, please take him. I can't imagine why the Irish would want a king but that's what he wants to be. You will not see the American Republic again if he is reelected. He should live there, he is Irish you know. Amen
Irishboy1952 | Aug 02, 2012, 11:59 AM EDT
As a American of Irish decent, I have no clue about the Irish People. This guy, Obamie, is a Liar, a Cheat and a Thief. Is that what they love about him??? Yesterday I was in a Barber Shop with Twenty American's, of Irish Decent, males, and ZERO, are voting for him in November, all DEMOCRATS. Took this country from 8 trillion in debt to 16 trillion in debt in 3 & 1/2 years. Another 200,000 people will be out of a job come January 6, 2013, adding to the already 25 million's that are out of work. IF YOU WANT HIM, YOU CAN HAVE HIM. A unemployed Democrat, who is losing his himne to GM, who got a bail out by OBAMIE... But none for the taxpayers of the USA are being bailed out.
shop tom | Aug 02, 2012, 11:58 AM EDT
My comment about the other 97% means that if one doesn't vote for Romney (one who understands that government is the problem, not the answer) then it's the same as voting for Obama and his failed presidency.
mace1246 | Aug 02, 2012, 11:58 AM EDT
Do you think America cares what Ireland thinks. They should concentrate on their own country and stay out of ours. 3% my foot. They survey was probaly taken in Boston, Chicago, Ca, and the other big libral states. We know who WILL win, Romney is the man. I am so sick of reading about Ireland and their views of America. They have nothing to say. SO BUTT OUT
GerryMaine | Aug 02, 2012, 11:58 AM EDT
President Obama is the worst President in my lifetime. His goal as President is to destroy the American economy. He wants every American to be impoverished and dependent on a government that is already bankrupt.
bob40wil | Aug 02, 2012, 11:49 AM EDT
I'm thinking no one cares how many Irish would vote for Romney, you can't vote in our elections so it's a moot point.
Tom Mo | Aug 02, 2012, 11:45 AM EDT
With 4 out of 10 under 25 unemployed in Ireland, of course they would want Obama. He promises them "free stuff".
joan1954 | Aug 02, 2012, 11:39 AM EDT
I agree with jacke47 and dublinduke the Irish in Ireland have no right to want to see Obama as president of the USA. Look at what they have done to their own country. At least areas of the US are doing well, a few problems but well and I might add according to stats Texas is leading the pack in creating and providing jobs in construction and rehabing houses. South Texas in paticular is behind because there are enough carpenters to finish jobs. This is the reason a lot of out of town contracters are coming in to develop near where the eagle ford gas centers are being developed. And these guys are trying to be environmentally friendly!
arialgirl | Aug 02, 2012, 11:37 AM EDT
Considering how the "Olde World" continues to look down on the average American and how so many Irish citizens who post on Irish Central are blatant in their animosity towards us hyphenated Irish-Americans, I would have to say who give's a rat's a$$ as to who Irish citizens would vote for to be US president. I won't weigh in on irish politics but folks in the Auld Sod can keep their uninformed opinions to themselves.
dublinduke | Aug 02, 2012, 11:30 AM EDT
Really not surprising they would feel this way, considering what the the Irish have done to their own economy.
jacke47 | Aug 02, 2012, 11:27 AM EDT
The Irish would rather vote for Che, the murderer, in reality. It's more their propensity to suck-off the country than help build it and the Irish spirit is now pervasice in the US because there are so many Irish there, especially in the ultr-liberal nanny Leftist States-NY, MA, Cally, DC etc ad nauseum....
OMuireain | Aug 02, 2012, 11:23 AM EDT
With this type of reasoning, it is no wonder that Eire is about to go under. As a descendant of Irish great, great, great grand parents, I am glad they left Donegal and Galway. Like many of the articles in this news letter, it is a bloody mullarkey.
torbreezy | Aug 02, 2012, 11:22 AM EDT
I'm compelled to reprise the Winston Churchill quote: "The best argument against a democracy is a 5 minute conversation with the average voter." Just look at the debacle such suspect judgments have wrought . . . in bringing Ireland to its knees . . . .
torbreezy | Aug 02, 2012, 11:22 AM EDT
any wonder that ireland is broke.
TreeDetective | Aug 02, 2012, 11:20 AM EDT
That is reason enough for Americans (not illegal aliens!!) to vote for Mitt Romney. We don't want to be like Ireland with people depending on the endless welfare system that pays them more than if they worked. You stay home and be depressed living off the system(s) or emigrate to a country that encourages private enterprise. Mitt Romney is a businessman not a proponent of let half the population live off the taxpayers.
McKeever1025 | Aug 02, 2012, 11:18 AM EDT
If you really wanted to know who the Irish American feels about Obama thats simple ask them dont use are far leftist media outlets for information because they lie big time. Mr. Obama is a criminal and so is Mr. Holder. Obama has done damage tothis country in 4 years then and natural distaer has bee able to. Mr Obama is going to be out of a job real fast and the american people cant wait for November to get here. To Mr Obama a plastic paddy i say to you POGUE MO THOIN!
lecorri | Aug 02, 2012, 11:13 AM EDT
Two words - Who Cares?
Chicago1 | Aug 02, 2012, 11:09 AM EDT
I was in Ireland last year, the view of Obama was superstar, right up there with Bill Clinton. I just returned from Ireland last week. From my conversations with friends/family, the view has shifted dramatically. It is not so much pro Romney but more "If only we could have Bill, again." THe only comments I heard about Pres. Obama was that he turned out to be disappointing, similar to their own leaders.
KEITHH07 | Aug 02, 2012, 11:00 AM EDT
What's most interesting I think is the 40% of people who are undecided. In my view, 51% support for Obama is on the lower side of expectations given it is a two horse race with a gaff prone Republiclan nominee who has alienated women. Nevertheless, if this poll had two options i.e. Obama or Romney, current standings would show Obama gettting the support of 93% of people compared to 7% for Romney
shop tom | Aug 02, 2012, 10:48 AM EDT
It looks like I will have to renounce my Irish ancestry. If indeed, 97% would vote for Obama, I have no desire to be associated with those idiots.
cheesesteak | Aug 02, 2012, 10:39 AM EDT
51% of the Irish population would vote again for Obama (if they could) and 4 out of 10 people under the age of 25 are unemployed. Hmmm...coincidence?
jamieLM | Aug 02, 2012, 10:38 AM EDT
I'm surprised we don't see pictures of Obama on IC with a halo on top of his head. I'm sure that if St. Patrick came back as a GOP candidate running against Obama, IC would publish as many negative articles about him as possible. I'll be so glad when the election is over and IC can quit promoting Obama and write about Ireland and Irish news. I'm an Ind. and I can decide who to vote for without any help from IC. I already hear enough of this political junk from both sides on TV via those nauseating ads.
jamieLM | Aug 02, 2012, 10:32 AM EDT
Well, then it's a good thing that Irish citizens can't vote in American elections...yet. Give Obama some time. He has to get all the illegal-alien Mexicans the vote first. Then maybe he'll let the Irish vote, but only if you vote Democrat.
irishpjk | Aug 02, 2012, 10:21 AM EDT
wtf Thanks, now I know why Ireland is in the shape it is. When it comes to politics more than half the people are clueless. I hope that we are a little better over here, it would be very sad to find out that we learned nothing in the last four years.
pilib04 | Aug 02, 2012, 10:20 AM EDT
Bogsidebunny, I have a question for you. It might be repetitious. Do you believe that China is a Socialist country, they way you called Ireland a Socialist country? China has national healthcare, government controlled prices, a government controlled economy. Is China Socialist, in your opinion? If so, and if socialism is such a bad economic policy, why has the USA been indebted to China since the Ronald Reagan (taxcut and spend) years?
pilib04 | Aug 02, 2012, 10:15 AM EDT
This article is highly misleading. Not just the headline, but the article itself. First it mentions a Journal "survey" of some 5000 Irish. I assume it is NOT a scientific poll. Perhaps similar to the "survey" that had McGuinness ahead in the race for Uachtaran na h'Eireann. The brief article does not mention any other variables than the 5000 "surveyed." In particular, selection of those to be surveyed. I imagine they were self-selected. Then the article ends with Quinnipiac Poll. It suggests that the Standard was a similar. Quinnipiac is a scientific poll. Now, please do not misunderstand. I am well aware of the great affection that Irish have for the American President. I know how well liked he is in Northern Ireland. He also continues to remain popular across Europe. I just think Irish Central/Voice could be a little more careful when "mixing apples and oranges." Polling is a political science, not a Facebook exercise. As for Romney, he should be concerned. He has not led in Ohio for months and when he did, the most he could get was 47%. Obama has consistently led in Ohio in all of the polls. For Irish readers, No Republican has ever been elected without carrying Ohio. As for President Obama, Is feidir linn.
marcpcoleman | Aug 02, 2012, 10:10 AM EDT
Could I suggest that the almost overwhelmingly pro-Democrat sentiment in Ireland's media - the near universal adoration of Obama and constant disaparagement of Republicans - is a key factor here? Irish voters are among the worlds most intelligent. But they are also busy and depend on the media for their views on a lot of issues. If that media keeps depicting one side as positive and the other as negative voter sentiment will adjust accordingly. The fact that US media is more balanced with left (NBC) and right (Fox) evenly represented and that support for Obama and Romney is more evenly split amongst the totality of US citizens polled seems to underpin this point.
mikehoulihan | Aug 02, 2012, 10:05 AM EDT
What a load of crap, more propaganda from Niall O'Dowd.
Gavin | Aug 02, 2012, 10:04 AM EDT
@bogsidebunny ,"They want America brought down a couple of levels because of ingrained Irish cultural begrudgery and Obama is the Silver bullet" LOL. Ireland is one of the most pro USA countries there is, personally I don't really care who you vote in as you president, that your business, but I do hope whoever is voted in does a good job for all Americans, no begrudgery from me or my kind,
JimmieM | Aug 02, 2012, 09:48 AM EDT
Well go ahead and vote then you only have to ask a democrat representative and they will happily supply you with a ballot, or will have some one vote in your name...its not like everyone doesn't cheat about everything anyway
turzovka | Aug 02, 2012, 09:45 AM EDT
Well as the saying goes "Be careful what you wish for as it may come true." The Irish people may know what they dislike about Romney, but they have no clue how awful and destructive and cowardly a leader can be as our current president has demonstrated. ..... Perhaps we are living in the times of "the great tribulation?" We are being judged harshly it seems.
johhnyb | Aug 02, 2012, 09:42 AM EDT
No point being stupid if you don't show it.
wjb1tex | Aug 02, 2012, 09:33 AM EDT
I wonder if Romney being a Morman has anything to do with the results ?
michaelidaho | Aug 02, 2012, 09:19 AM EDT
Gee, that is about as noteworthy as conducting a poll in Boston and "discovering" that an overwhelming majority of the people favor Obama. Or doing the same thing in Salt Lake city and "discovering" that an overwhelming majority favor Romney.
Baggie68 | Aug 02, 2012, 08:03 AM EDT
Ha, ha, ha Bogsidebunny. China is now the wealthiest country - look how much money they lend to the USA.
bogsidebunny | Aug 02, 2012, 07:43 AM EDT
WOW What a revelation. Ireland is a Socialist country and almost all of the indigenous population and a couple of hundred-thousand foreign Nationals like that just fine. So why is everyone surprised that almost all people living in Ireland want to see a President in America who is trying to demolish the most productive, wealthiest country in the world and turn it into the bastion of Cuban style Socialism? They want America brought down a couple of levels because of ingrained Irish cultural begrudgery and Obama is the Silver bullet.
