One more incredible video as Riverdance hits 20 years

A milestone remembered in an amazing way.

To celebrate the 20th anniversary of Riverdance a massive group of irish dancers all came together on Ireland’s “Late Late Show”, Ireland’s most popular TV show on Saturday night.

It was 20 years ago that Riverdance started off as a fill-in act during the interval of the Eurovision Song Contest.

It introduced the world to the extraordinary talent of Michael Flatley and the incredible vision of Moya Doherty and John McColgan.

It re-invented Irish dance making it cool for generations of young dancers around the world.

In fact about 500 Irish dancers showed up on Saturday night to celebrate.

It was quite a sight as host Ryan Tubridy introduced the act.

He noted it has now been seen by 25 million people in 45 different countries, Ireland’s greatest ever export act.

It has sold over 10 million DVDs.

And it continues, as we can see from the incredible number of dancers who trailed their way all through the RTE building where the Late Late Show Show is housed.

Enjoy.
