Better to gag yourself than to lead the young astray.

Everytime I read this site, I Thank God, that my ancesters migrated to America from Ireland in the 1830's.
The Catholic Church has rules, that must be followed.
If these Nuns, and Priest disagree, then leave the Church.
This is too logical for the Irish mind to comprehend, and is why I'm American.

pilib04, you're wrong again. A Nun is a woman living in a religious order. It has nothing to do with whether an order is cloistered or not. You don't even know about your own religion.

Did you know that his own cardinals thought that Pius IX, the pope who got the left-over bishops (after those who voted no, the majority, had left) to proclaim papal infallibility at Vatican I, was insane, clinically so? And that the British wanted papal infallibility so that the pope could order the Irish bishops to order the Irish people to obey the British as their legitimate rulers appointed by God? And that the pope did order the Irish bishops to teach obedience to Britain?

@the people below who say that the protestors should leave the RC Church: what do you hope to accomplish? I've read many comments like "obey the Church or get the hell out," "Why don't they just leave the church?" and "Why not start their own church as the 'reformists' did?" First, your Church is seriously in need of reform, not having carried through the reforms agreed upon at Second Vatican Council-- a serious transgression against the Holy Spirit. Reform is best achieved by those within. Second, the rest of the Body of Christ-- the other Christian Churches-- are watching these tyrannical moves by the Vatican with deep concern. Censorship and excommunication of outspoken faithful Christians does damage and causes unnecessary pain to the Body of Christ. IF the present Curia succeeds in driving out these faithful priests and nuns, criticism among other Christians will intensify to the point of denunciation: it's wrong for anyone to call these actions Christian, and Christians will not long tolerate it! You accomplish nothing but more media attention by trying to drive out these priests, nuns, and reformers. Your obligation as Christians is first and foremost to listen to them.

I THINK the Catholic Church is on the way out. you can't suppress the truth forever . the old saying rings true, ---AND THE TRUTH WILL SET YOU FREE ! the Vatican has more & more become like the Old Nazi party. Suppress, suppress , & Suppress .The old way or the Highway is long gone. you can no longer Dictate to the Sheep anymore , they have become Educated and know the Vatican has lost its Teeth and Bite. Its time to close the old political Structure Down and boot the Fat Cows out and Get back to Basics. and lock them out of our Bedrooms. let them go forth and teach the true word of God. not what they Make up !

Witch-hunt! The priests in Ireland and the Religious Sisters and Nuns in the U.S. And yet, they don't notice the plank in their own eye and the Church is bleeding members worldwide.
The Passionist Fathers in the U. S. are bankrupt and don't know how they will take care of their remaining elderly but Rome fiddles.
Quel Tragic!

I'm reminded of when the church burned books on the human body and tortured and burned dissenters at the stake. It also had a banned book list untiol 1964, and the other day I saw that a book was to be removed from all catholic libraries, schools etc...................Just the other day I was talking to an ex nun who married an ex priest 40 years ago. I thought she left the church to marry, but she said she left it because she saw RATZInger rising and knew what he was about.............Thank God the church is all but dead in Ireland, and similar in most of western Europe. The pope is mad, just plain mad, living in an altsheimers like dream world of long long ago...........I wish him a long papacy and life......And we will no longer have to have a church which not only molrested children all over the world, but hid these vile crimes. And a pope who in 2009 UNexcommunicated a HOlocaust denier bishp Williamson, the utter horror..............Soon the bankruptcy sign will hang over the vatican, and the church of horrors and tyranical control will be no more. The sooner the better. As for those who still support the vatican - bet they are all old folks and time will cure that problem...........Again, the Pope is just plain mad or falling into altsheimers...........Just look at the vatican and Benedict as fighting their own last battle of the bulge.....And so many people - a billion as they come to understand will pick up Dr. MLKings statement "free at last, free at last , free at last Thank God Almighty that we are free at last of the tyranny of Rome.

The woman in the picture is very unlikely a "nun." In all probability, she is a "Sister." A nun lives her life in contemplative prayer in a cloistered or semi-cloistered community. A sister is the woman that you usually have contact with, whether in a hospital, school, parish, or some other service organization. Having said that, I am proud of the sister in the picture.
